To spend almost 1k on a UK holiday cottage in September?

Is this too much? We're a family of 5, no school hol requirements.

It seems a lot when there's no 'going abroad' involved - we did go somewhere £200 cheaper last year but there was no wifi which rather put a downer on things!

We went September last year and are going for June this year (same place though). We had good weather in September but as someone with a June birthday I can't tell you how many years I've had rain on my birthday

We are limited by school holidays though.
