I'm fortunate in a number of ways to be in a decent job with a steady salary and have a manager who appreciates the work I do. Net result is I'm getting a small bonus. And him indoors has said I must make sure I treat myself. I like the idea of getting something nice and frivolous but can't really think of anything. I did jokingly suggest we/he/I book a cleaner for a good spring clean and he looked horrified. (he hates having strangers in the house)

So any ideas what I could get myself? I recently bought a bottle of Issy Miyake perfume (free with Nectar points) - that will last me a few years. I don't need any new clothes as I'm working from home. I stocked up on all my hobby needs before lockdown a year back. I'd love a massage but that's not going to happen any time soon. I'd also love a haircut but I'm going to insist on DH dealing with that shortly.

So what would you spend say £100 on - just for you?

Some lovely skincare stuff or really good hair products

A really nice restaurant takeaway dinner for DH and I
Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips lipstick
Lovely cozy socks
A stack of books
A nice outfit to wear when I can finally go somewhere again
A bottle of really good gin
A nice silver ring
High thread count bedlinen
Acqua Di Parma - the perfume itself, or the hand soap and lotion
A good flattering pair of jeans

Whatever you spend it on, treat yourself and enjoy it!

OchreBlue · 22/02/2021 21:38

Your ideas of a cleaner or a massage sound good, for the massage could you save it/book in advance to look forward to? Hopefully not too much longer to wait. It sounds like you would enjoy an experience that would improve your life more than buying tangible stuff with it, perhaps you'll think of something as places open up again?

hedgehogger1 · 22/02/2021 22:46

The thing about the cleaner is everything will be dirty again a few days later and you'll feel you've wasted your opportunity

I'd like to get a robot vacuum cleaner. Appreciate that not everyone would see this as a treat for themselves as I guess it is a present "for the household", but as I am the only adult in the house, this would be a big treat for me!

MissMarpleDarling · 22/02/2021 23:51

My £100 bonus went in the family pot for daily living for some reason. You've reminded me I need to treat myself! Treat yourself op. What about a nice coat or boots? Or fancy perfume? Or a massage thing or home foot spa. I'd buy something crap for the home like a rug knowing me.

Absinth13 · 22/02/2021 23:58

Something you can enjoy more than once, like a comfortable garden chair for the summer. Whenever you sat it in you would remember that it was a treat you treated yourself to

Plants for my garden.

The prime feast burger and lobster box was lovely.

2 lobster rolls, 2 whole lobstwrs 2 buger kits

Depending if you're missing dining out these restaurant recipe boxes are good

A subscription to wine cellar wines.

I'd put it towards some art - there's a collograph I've been saving up for!

Failing that I'd get some AfterShokz headphones for running or just loads of books.

Mavedrai · 23/02/2021 02:17

I bought myself a robot cleaner last year for Christmas! I honestly love it. Best gift I ever got.

If I were to treat myself to something again, I think I'd like some fine jewellery. I've never bought myself anything other than cheap earrings -- would be nice to splurge on a fancy bracelet.

grassisjeweled · 23/02/2021 02:18

Came on to say a cleaner Grin
