I hate DP or DS driving my car as it takes me ages to get everything back to how I like it
I keep my own cup in my drawer at work
I have preferred pens, knives, scissors, nail clippers, tweezers etc
Not good at sharing my fancy hair products
I always sit in the same seat even in dining room

I don't really like sharing any of my personal stuff - things like my own mugs, clothes, laptop, phone etc. are off limits to other people, even DH.

NeedCoffeeToSurvive · 21/02/2021 10:20

Why are people saying their toothbrushes?! That's not something we don't like other people using, it's just an item that's not shared, Ever! If my partner used my toothbrush I'd ask him to immediately go buy me a new one.

RaspberryCoulis · 21/02/2021 10:21

My fabric scissors.

Children know that they are never to be used to cut paper/card under ANY circumstances.

grapewine · 21/02/2021 10:23

My bedroom.

I'm lucky enough to have a guestroom/office for overnight visits. I just can't share my bed, except with people I want to have sex with.

Sleepsoon7 · 21/02/2021 10:23

My husband - hence we are now separated

( and no I didn’t really think of him as a possession but ykwim.....)

LetMeStraightenMyCrownFirst · 21/02/2021 10:25

@peak2021

Towels, there are visitor towels and even a separate one for any workmen/women who visit (such as a plumber when needed).
Monica!
abouquetofsharpenedpencils · 21/02/2021 10:29

My books!
Ever since I lent one to a friend and it came back battered.
I love my books.

agree!

I'd put my towels and pillow in that category too Grin

Anyone can grab any fresh towel from their cupboard, but as soon as they are being used by someone, they are out of bound.

LemmysAceCard · 21/02/2021 10:31

My iPhone charger, drives me nuts when it hasn’t been put back, it lives by my side of the bed to charge up at night. It was the adult DC who took it, but since they moved out it doesn’t happen anymore.

isn't it easier to replace the hand towel after it's been used?

I am trying to picture a loo, or a bathroom with a hand towel per person, and a sign "visitors only" Grin

wellthatsunusual · 21/02/2021 10:33

And then another sign telling the plumber that he can't use the one for guests he has to use an extra special one for tradesmen.

thecatsthecats · 21/02/2021 10:42

I have a specific fork and teaspoon that I don't like, and DH knows to make sure I don't end up with them. Grin

peaceanddove · 21/02/2021 10:43

Generally I'm very chilled and open handed with my things, but I get very hissy if my expensive Tweezerman tweezers and Shu Umera eyelash curlers are 'borrowed' by DD. I have resorted to hiding them.

Fifthtimelucky · 21/02/2021 15:10

Fountain pen
Kitchen knives (when used for inappropriate purposes like cutting up cardboard boxes)
My bath towel (hand towels are shared)
Toothbrush (though I agree that that should go without saying)

Cherrysoup · 21/02/2021 15:20

Only my work mug. DH wouldn’t dream of using my toothbrush, euw!

Lynora · 21/02/2021 15:25

My phone and laptop. Not bothered about anything else.

CoffeeRunner · 21/02/2021 15:27

I’m not really precious about much but I can’t stand anyone at work borrowing my mug. I don’t drink milk which is more of a phobia than a lactose intolerance. If anyone borrows my mug chances are they will put milk in it. Yukkk.

I do also like to sit in the same seat in the lounge.

OverByYer · 21/02/2021 15:30

My phone charger, drives me mad if anyone uses it and doesn’t put it back.
My favourite mug

LuaDipa · 21/02/2021 15:31

My mugs. I used to be funny about my car as I kept it stocked for every eventuality! Now we are both home and we hardly ever drive I just use whichever is easiest to get out.

AubergineDream · 21/02/2021 15:33

I basically have one of everything for myself, and I don't share. Everything from reusable drinking straws to towels to nail clippers to pillows to mugs. I have my own chair at the dining table and my own place on the sofa (and cushion and blanket). I don't really share anything at all.

AubergineDream · 21/02/2021 15:33

My DC all have one each of everything too!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 21/02/2021 15:48

My good knife - I hate having to use any of the others. We each have our own preferred mugs, plus a set that only come out for visitors - so never at the moment - but I do get irrationally angry if I find a tradesperson using one of “mine”.

At the start of lockdown in March I bought some proper hairdressing scissors because I have a blunt fringe which usually gets cut every five weeks. I found DP opening an Amazon delivery with them the other day which I was not pleased at.

Justcashnosweets · 21/02/2021 15:53

My mug, my Egyptian cotton towel, and my memory foam pillow. I'm ultra possessive of these particular items!

olivesnutsandcheeseplease · 21/02/2021 16:09

I'm particularly fond of DS's white plastic spoon that he got with an Easter egg one year. I like to eat my yoghurt with it.
I get unreasonably irritated if DS has used it .

Other stuff, toothbrush, moon cup, tea mug and my special pint glass for water. I sound unhinged

goochface · 21/02/2021 16:11

My butt plug
