I hate DP or DS driving my car as it takes me ages to get everything back to how I like it
I keep my own cup in my drawer at work
I have preferred pens, knives, scissors, nail clippers, tweezers etc
Not good at sharing my fancy hair products
I always sit in the same seat even in dining room

Bed
Pillows
Lap top
Desk chair
Oh goodness....I could go on I better stop !!!! Ha ha

Mydogisagentleman · 21/02/2021 09:35

Car.
DH is just slightly taller than me but pulls the chair forward so I bang my knees getting in, puts it so upright that it’s uncomfortable, adjusts my wing mirrors and raises the chair.

Oh god, so many, lol. Worst was my car - exh used to change all the internal settings probably just to piss me off (he had his own car too). Desk chair - it’s set just right, so leave it the fuck alone! My computer - I’m left handed, leave the mouse there! We all sound barking, lol

Bed and toilet. I can't stand the thought of other people in our bed, I'm a terrible host and will never make it up for guests, when we didn't have a spare it was sofa or hotel. I'm the same in return will book hotels to visit family. (Although that's for a few additional reasons too!)

I very rarely use our bathroom or downstairs toilets as I don't like that other people use them, I'm the only person who uses the en-suite and I like it that way, DH uses the others and guests obviously don't go in the en-suite! But I do use public toilets so it's all very daft really, but I will just always default to the en-suite when at home!

Crunchymum · 21/02/2021 09:40

Definitely my mug (used to be a set but over 15 years I broke all of them, then I found a sufficient replacement but that broke so the one I use now is sub standard but it's still my mug)

Also my chopping knives. Have two paring knives but I use them for everything. DP occasionally mistakes them for steak knives and I have to restrain myself from physically snatching the knife off of him.

I also do not share toothbrushes. Even with my kids.

TheWaif · 21/02/2021 09:41

My phone or laptop. Do you want to read my diary while you're at it?!

Sceptre86 · 21/02/2021 09:43

My mug. When I moved in with the inlaws sil made a point of using mine so that when I wanted to use it the cow would be drinking from it. I told her to get her own.

sleepymouse · 21/02/2021 09:44

Well I can't really think of anything, even my toothbrush I don't mind if DH uses. I guess my menstrual cup, although I'm the only one in the house who would need one

Serin · 21/02/2021 09:48

My special soup spoon. My sister inherited our Grandmothers cutlery set but gave me a soup spoon I'd used as a child. It sits perfectly in my hand and makes everything taste better.

TokyoSushi · 21/02/2021 09:49

I'm afraid I'm in the absolutely loads category too, bowls, cups, most cleaning/grooming products, towels etc etc.

NoSquirrels · 21/02/2021 09:50

I think mine are pretty normal. Toothbrush, hairbrush, obviously.

Towel (not a particular one, but if someone uses the towel I’ve most recently been using cos they’re too lazy to fetch a new one/theirs is scrumpled in their room I feel stabby.)

Particular tea mug. It’s mine, no one else’s.

Phone & computer - sort of, but I’ll lend to DC if needed.

Make-up, moisturisers and posh bath stuff. There’s general stuff in the bathroom and then there’s my stuff not to be shared. Think that’s pretty normal though?

I think that’s it. I’m happy to sit in different chairs at the dining table or seats in the living room but one DC in particular is very particular- has to be one particular spot, one particular blanket to snuggle under etc so we all default to set places.

MorvaanReed · 21/02/2021 09:50

My pillow. DH and I have different brand memory foam pillows. If I have his my neck gets tied up in knots.

LunaNorth · 21/02/2021 09:51

My special mugs Angry

Marmite27 · 21/02/2021 09:51

DH used my good baking spatula to make a curry and tainted it. I was very sad.

NoSquirrels · 21/02/2021 09:51

Shock Your toothbrush!
MrsSugar · 21/02/2021 09:54

Covid has sort of solved this for me.
Before covid times I would absolutely hate anyone visiting my house to use my cups/glasses or cutlery. It’s the thought of my things in other peoples mouths. Although I do suffer from OCD which due to medication is a lot more under control so maybe after covid it’ll bother me less !

IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere · 21/02/2021 09:57

My pens. No one touches my fountain pen anyway but I hate it when I have found a pen I like - not necessarily an expensive one - my current favourite is from a tub from the Works and cost about 10p - but I would rather buy a pen for someone than hand it over.

justilou1 · 21/02/2021 09:59

Anything. Clearly I don’t play well with others. (Not entirely true... I’ve just had a shitty day.)

Kokosrieksts · 21/02/2021 10:01

I’m not bothered by most of your listed ones. For me just the obvious like toothbrush, hairbrush.
If it’s close family or good friends I’m happy to share pretty much anything.

SlipperTripper · 21/02/2021 10:02
  • Mug
  • Desk
  • Nail varnishes (DSD doesn't do the tops up and they leak everywhere which buggers them, and whatever they leak onto!)
  • Anything that isn't then put back where it was taken from
MagicSummer · 21/02/2021 10:02

My bathroom, in particular my loo!

therealteamdebbie · 21/02/2021 10:07

Pretty much anything from my study.

I am also very territorial about my desk and everything in it at work! I go ballistic if my stuff disappear, my desk is not the stationary cupboard. Grin

Mrgrinch · 21/02/2021 10:08

My kitchen definitely. Its my pride and joy and I have quite the collection of cooking and baking things which I love. Drives me mad when my family want to borrow things because I never get them back. I generally say no now.

Benfoldslanded · 21/02/2021 10:14

My tweezers, had to get a new pair after my DH used mine to take bones out of a fish.
Loads of other things. I don't think I'm very good at sharing.
