Sex and the City reboot...

I am a huuuge SATC fan and was pleased to hear they are creating a reboot.

But apparently Mr Big won't be in it...nor Steve Brady. Obviously we all know Samantha isn't returning either.

AIBU to think this reboot is a bit pointless if some of the main characters are no longer there? Or should I embrace any new characters they introduce? Probably just being a grumpy twat!

@Ellpellwood the more I re watch the more I hate Carrie. Shes such a selfish arsehole and an absolute crap friend!

@Dontbeme haha I'm definitely going to read this later with a cup of tea, it seems like an easy thing to get lost in. She was the worst, don't know why she seemed to be the glue to their friendship

I don't know if we were supposed to root for Carrie exactly, as much as just enjoy the fantasy she embodied. She was absolutely meant to be messy and imperfect and she was.

I agree with others, Carrie will be a widow trying to find a way to move on with her life. I wonder if they would have Miranda follow Cynthia Nixon's real life path, I think she moved into politics and ran for Governor or something like that, might be interesting!

No point without Samantha. It's a shame as I'd have been very interested to see how a character like her aged.

On another note, is the series available to stream anywhere?

I would love it if the characters were back out on the dating scene and talking about how things have/haven’t changed.

It’s common knowledge that Kim Catrell was not part of the “the gang” and was unhappy a lot of the time during filming and that was absolutely no love lost between her and SJP yet.... you can’t tell that can you. Samantha and Carrie had such a strong friendship and you would never ever pick up on any ill feelings between the actors in real life. There are so many scenes where you wouldn’t believe they actually hated each other in real life, because their happiness and fun and care for one another is just so strong.

I’ll watch it no doubt but it will never be as good as it was the first time. And yes with 2021 eyes it was problematic and questionable but it wasn’t at the time, it was great
