To be think this is a waste of money

My DH got a parcel through the post and it was some old looking jigsaw. I asked him why he bought it and he said they're collectible and it's from the 70s.
It looks really old and I could smell it straight away it stinks of stale tobacco - like 40 years of stale cigarettes. He paid £5 and £3 postage for it so it's not exactly breaking the bank but ugh 🤦‍♀️
So AIBU to think it's a complete waste of money especially when I try and keep the house tidy. I don't mind keeping some of our sentimental stuff but not someone else's crap.

It’d get lost in that lot. You wouldn’t even notice if that was your house.
JellyBabiesFan · 18/02/2021 21:10

I feel sorry for your HB. Is he supposed to ask for your permission every time he wants to buy something?

Reinventinganna · 18/02/2021 21:55

Why is ‘your’ house a stock photo?

MadameButterface · 18/02/2021 21:59

Why is ‘your’ house a stock photo?
Came here to ask this 😂
HaveANiceFuckingDay · 18/02/2021 22:06

I spend that on a bottle wine a couple times a week . If my husband spent this as a one off I really couldn’t get worked up about it . £8. Unless it’s a chunk of your food budget a week it’s seriously nothing . Don’t piss on his chips ( jigsaw)

FossilisedFanny · 18/02/2021 22:12

Stock photo ?

Divebar2021 · 18/02/2021 22:14

I think if that’s your house you’ve got other areas to address before the £8 stinky jigsaw.

MaLarkinn · 18/02/2021 22:25

Bizarre.

So please can we all now take this post in the light hearted way it was originally intended ♥️

@1Morewineplease

Maybe you should have stated that your post was light-hearted. As it is , fresh air and Febreze might be your friends. Strongly suggest you retaliate, therefore, with a taxidermied stoat or a Victorian China doll with THOSE eyes!

Too cheap to buy a jigsaw... or a non-watermarked iStock photo Grin
Luckingfovely · 18/02/2021 22:54

It may have been lighthearted, but it wasn't funny or clever, and it didn't even had a point. Terribly boring, for eight quid's worth of angst.

Cadent · 19/02/2021 00:29

Why doesn't he tidy his own shit? Think that’s the real issue.

I can see why you’re annoyed ay tidying more of his crap.

Lighten up. Or find another thread.
PickAChew · 19/02/2021 00:31

If he enjoys it, it's not a waste of money.

Reinventinganna · 19/02/2021 02:27

Oh! You were being funny! Ha ha

Bluntness100 · 19/02/2021 05:30

Well this got weird,,,😂

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 19/02/2021 09:16

If he bought it online how was he supposed to know it smelled? I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve bought something from eBay or Facebook and when I’ve seen it in real life it’s scruffy or mouldy or smells of smoke etc - if you’re lucky and haven’t paid yet you can make your excuses with Facebook sales, but with eBay you’re stuck once you’ve bid on it!

If that’s the most frivolous thing he does, you need to buy a bottle of Febreze and chill out!
