Honestly though, have I been using this word wrong my whole life?! The definitions i found on Google are nothing to me 😕

For anyone interested I take it to mean a sharp nod of the head.

Someone tell me I'm right?

To hit something?

Like bonk, bop etc

Just to change the tone completely, “donk” is an Australian colloquial term for a car engine. I remember (in the dark ages) when we’d bought a new release Holden, my Dad looking under the bonnet and saying “well, that’s the same old donk they’ve been using for years!”.

Haha - you both beat me to it. I was going to say that too and I'm also on my possibly millionth rewatching. It's so comforting being able to recite half the script along with them!
Never heard of it as a word though, I'm afraid.

MummytoCSJH · 18/02/2021 01:19

You know what you wanna do with that right? You wanna put a banging donk on it...

SilverBirchWithout · 18/02/2021 01:22

Surely it’s bonk your head, not donk?

PPAK2 · 18/02/2021 01:27

Surely bonk is a childish word for rudies?

A nickname Julian Fellowes shamelessly lifted from the Mitfords.

Enough4me · 18/02/2021 01:34

Is it the name of a sound? (onomatopoeia?). Like splash, but solid... She heard a donk when the branch hit her.

SilverBirchWithout · 18/02/2021 01:34

@PPAK2

Yes - but I’ve somehow never associated the 2. 😂

Maybe it’s always been donk your head and I’ve been embarrassing myself without realising!

PandemicAtTheDisco · 18/02/2021 01:35

A donk is a man with a donkey sized penis or donkey dick. (Australian slang).
It's used as a friendly insult to call someone stupid or clumsy.
It's used for a large built man who's nice natured but a bit dim.

PandemicAtTheDisco · 18/02/2021 01:36

That's all from my Aussie relatives though.

PPAK2 · 18/02/2021 01:47

SilverBirchWithout Maybe you have? That was my predicament earlier 😂 Hopefully you haven't been going round telling people to stop bonking each others heads 😳😂 (off to Google bonk).

Put a donk on it!
Nick Grimshaw went through a stage of putting a donk on everything!
BLToutanowhere · 18/02/2021 08:36

Donk is a playful tap to the head.

Twat is multi use round my way but generally not one for conversation with the vicar, unless he's a twat who needs a good twatting.

HeronLanyon · 18/02/2021 08:45

Never heard it said. Think maybe seen it in cartoon. Would think it meant a thud probably on someone’s head by something round falling on it. Coconut seems most likely.

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 18/02/2021 08:50

Aircraft engine

“Biggles landed the kite with the donk fully on the blink. What a ~chap~!”

TakeTheCuntOutOfScunthorpe · 18/02/2021 08:52

A donk is a customized car with ridiculously oversized wheels.

Shorthairlady · 18/02/2021 09:00

It's short for badonkadonk Grin

TheQueef · 18/02/2021 09:03

Dog donk was something that one stepped in back in my youth.
