Men peeing. Why so loud

So I've tried Googling this with no luck.

My teenager pees really loudly. Straight into the water like a thoroughbred race horse.
You can hear him 2 rooms away

Are men meant to pee against the side or is this normal.

It might be me mind because I hate people hearing me pee.

Once upon a time, before this thing called lockdown, I worked in an office where there were semi-unisex toilets - a row of cubicles with sinks inside and full length doors - which were alternately designated male - female - male - female etc. So whichever one you were in, you were between two others for the opposite sex.

Believe me, women can make as much noise as men, and often more!

There's no dangling in water, they don't dangle that far down! It just tends to touch the front rim unless we sit back a bit. To lower the tone even further I've noticed men tend to get skidmarks down the back of the loo, whereas women tend to leave them at the front, just before the water. This suggests to me that women get the luxury of sitting a lot further forward than men do, because you don't have the worry of things touching.

I've also just realised that you don't have the problem of trying to pee with an erection. That decides it, it's no longer a draw. Men definately have it worse when it comes to urination

It's not simply touching. If you sit too far forward then your underparts are on the rim.
