To think you can't be 'greedy' if you're not overweight

Seems simple to me Confused

If you're not overweight then no matter what you consume you can't be 'greedy'

As you are a healthy weight and BMI and you're just eating to maintain that

Depends.

I wouldn't eat others food because I couldn't help myself and control my own greed, however if given the choice of my own snacks and food I can be very greedy and eat packs of stuff in one go (whilst still being aware of my calorie intake.)

I'm 5'2 and a UK size 4.

Two of my children are very greedy. Both will eat until they feel unwell, one will eat until he's sick. I have to take the food away.

"So I guess to me, being greedy is about depriving others."

So if I live alone, I can't be greedy?

SinisterBumFacedCat · 15/02/2021 13:05

Greed isn’t just about food. I know people who are very greedy with money. They are also thin and obsessed with self image.

But OP you won’t be interested in that.

I'm sure it's unhealthy to eat a pack of Mars Bars for the average person but NOT a builder

Calories needed in day = 5000

Pack of Mars Bars = 1000
Giant salad/whole chicken/fish/veg/potatoes = 4000

Is the SAME as me:

Sedentary life - 1000 calories

Biscuits = 250
Salad/chicken/potato = 750

EXACTLY THE SAME PROPORTIONS

Of course it's unhealthy! And will potentially cause health problems.

Builders don't need 5000 calories per day (at least most anyway) and no one needs a bag of Mars bars per day. That's a very unhealthy attitude to food.

There are far healthier foods to eat.
