AIBU washing bedding

AIBU to think bedding should not really need washing more than once a week (unless you have small children who wet the bed etc/ sickness etc)? My DD (13) has been putting out 2 or 3 lots of bedding a week for washing for the past few weeks and I feel it is totally unnecessary. It's not a bloody hotel. Pillowcases more often I'd live with for the sake of reducing acne but the whole lot doesn't need changing. I'd rather she showered more often and not wear PJs for most of the day. It's doing my head in, it's winter so it's not even easy to get it dried. How often do you normally change sheets/ bedding?

Is she wetting the bed?

I do ours every 4/5 days

Why don't you just have a discussion? Everyone is struggling at the moment. Could just be a coping mechanism. Something she can control.

Have you spoken to her about why? A lot of kids seem to go through a germphobe phase.

Put your sheets away from her and give her two sets she has to wash and dry or no bedding.

Ah, how I have missed the Towel Washing Threads. This is almost as good 😌

Just go and buy seven white cotton pillowcases tell her she can have a clean pillow every day but the rest of the bedding only gets changed once a week. Also for the acne make sure she has her own white hand towel for her face drying , I have radiator drying racks on the bedroom radiators and every one keeps there own towels in there bedroom only hand towel in bathroom. She is probably very worried about the spots, have you looked at the Avon clearskin range, it seems to work for my granddaughter and is good value and you can order it on there website and get it delivered to you.

I hope this isn’t a sign of a mental health problem, especially with covid making everyone highly sensitive to germs. I have OCD and have to change my sheets if my bed feels ‘contaminated’.
