Would you find this odd or offensive?

I’m a 16/18 curvy with it , suits me. Iv been this size most of my adult life and I am happy . Chatting to a friend who has lost a lot of weight , she keeps bringing up weight . She was complaining about her mil and felt the need to say it’s not that I dislike Fat people- I’m fine with you . Now she is a bit younger and wrapped up in what society thinks is perfect. How would you handle this ?. I’m fat . But why would she have to justify that she doesn’t dislike me ?
It seems very odd . Is she trying to be a twat ?

I would find it odd and offensive. She sounds like the kind of person to add: "I don't hate fat people, some of my best friends are fat".

All insisting that anyone who is a size 16 is definitely fat/overweight/obese.

Such a generalisation can only come from the most small-minded, obtuse people. Everyone is different, and not EVERYONE who is a size 16 is FAT!

Sounds like the typical comments someone who has lost weight makes. The real test is can she keep the weight off

Don’t be childish, the OP herself said she was fat you’re just skirting round the issue! I for one never said I wasn’t fat 🙄 Yes everyone who is a size sixteen is fat, and?? Why are you making such a drama out of it, seems like you are the one who sees it as a insult.
