To think you can't get pregnant this way?

DH and I have been having leakage problems with condoms - not from the top - the condom didn't split - but slightly from the bottom, near the opening. I feel like a teenager for asking this, obviously I know that no contraception method is 100% safe, but am I right in thinking that it would be very unfortunate to get pregnant this way? A small amount of sperm would have to find its way in and then travel up all the way to the cervix - not impossible, but very unlikely right? You always hear of condoms breaking but never of leakage...

Me and DP used condom and welcome dd8.... excuse if my faith in any contraception. It’s just luck of the draw 😁

TMI op, but do get him to hang onto it on the way out. My Dh didn't on one occasion and we noticed it was wet at the bottom, nothing more than that, but by not holding onto it it had moved up maybe a cm, if you see what I mean.
Anyway I knew it was only a tiny risk, but went for the morning after pill the following day just to be sure....and 9 months later we had the most beautiful newborn!

Obviously it’s theoretically possible but lots of things are theoretically possibly. You’d have to be damn unlucky to pregnant that way though, especially if you’re outside the ‘fertile window’ of your cycle.

Buy two packs.

Leave the box marked "Extra Large Supersize" by the bed, but fill it from your pack of "junior size snug fit"

@AnxiousAlpaca that was my thinking... of course everything is possible in theory, but reality is a bit more nuanced. Just having a look on the ttc forums - conception is not that easy Confused

Condoms are only effective if you use them properly. He needs a tutorial.

I’ve had frequent sex with people using condoms for years and never come across this with anyone.

I would suggest he is either not putting it on correctly or a brand change would solve this.

You can’t enjoy sex properly if you are worrying about this.
