Using kitchen scissors to separate a string of raw sausages, then using the scissors (without washing them) to open a packet of frozen fruit, to be eaten raw with yoghurt.

YABU - no biggie

YANBU - that's fuckin' rank

I do laugh at what some people on here find disgusting. I couldn't ever imagine having such a sensitive stomach.

It's not rank, it's just not an exceptionally clever thing to do. In the grand scheme of things who gives a shit

pictish · 28/01/2021 22:23

I wouldn’t care.

AStudyinPink · 28/01/2021 22:24

Sometimes I cut up raw chicken and then just rinse the knife under hot water, then use it for vegetables. Even raw vegetables.

Historical cases of food poisoning in the Pink household: zero.

borntohula · 28/01/2021 22:25

I'm just jealous someone can eat frozen fruit, my teeth hurt thinking about it.

AStudyinPink · 28/01/2021 22:25

Yes, frozen fruit is horrid.

cherrypiepie · 28/01/2021 22:26

Totally rank! Envy

Cannot believe anyone would do this but reading this thread looks like I am in a very small minority.

ReggieKrait · 28/01/2021 22:27

Totally rank, unsafe, why would an adult even do that?!

Just wait till said person gets food poisoning
from something and you can guarantee they won’t be pulling that shit again.

GoodbyePorpoiseSpit · 28/01/2021 22:27

Couldn’t care about this. But am v slovenly

LubaLuca · 28/01/2021 22:29

It's unhygienic, and I think most people understand that handling items and surfaces with hands or utensils that have been used for raw meat is not safe.

Pukkatea · 28/01/2021 22:31

Meh. Ideal no, would I do it myself, maybe...

All the worst food poisoning comes from vegetables these days anyway.

Shrivelled · 28/01/2021 22:32

I would find that absolutely savagely revolting. Cross contamination of anything with raw meat really grosses me out.

AuntyClementine · 28/01/2021 22:33

It’s probably not best practice but I can’t say I would honestly care.

canonlydoblue · 28/01/2021 22:34

Meh

sadpapercourtesan · 28/01/2021 22:34

Sorry to disappoint those who were expecting something more lurid! I'll try to do better Grin

It was me that did it, without even thinking. Then as I was eating the cherries/yoghurt I thought back through what I had done and felt....gross.

No sign of horrific food poisoning yet.

AStudyinPink · 28/01/2021 22:34

😂

ChocOrange1 · 28/01/2021 22:35

I'm amazed that some people think this is OK
What do you think would actually happen? A very very slight risk of food poisoning is pretty much worst case scenario. Or do you implode upon putting a microscopic amount of raw meat into your mouth?

waterlego · 28/01/2021 22:35

Ewww no, I'm really careful about stuff like that. I don't even think the risk presented is really that big at all, but I wouldn't be able to enjoy the fruit because I'd have made that association in my head with raw sausages.

Fieldsoftripe9 · 28/01/2021 22:35

I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

If you google it lots of people eat raw sausages

Justcallmebebes · 28/01/2021 22:36

Only if the dog licked them too

goldielockdown2 · 28/01/2021 22:36

Unforgivable that

AbsentmindedWoman · 28/01/2021 22:37

Unsanitary!

Megan2018 · 28/01/2021 22:38

I’d do it but I have low standards. It’s not advisable obviously, but I do far worse!

daisypond · 28/01/2021 22:38

I would do that and not think anything of it. It’s not ideal, I suppose, if I thought about it. But any risk is minuscule.

Rowenasemolina · 28/01/2021 22:39

YABVU. It’s the uncaring attitude of people like you that could make tapeworm and salmonella endangered species. Don’t you care about the biodiversity of the planet? I washed scissors such as these are a vital habitat we simply can’t afford to lose

MistressoftheDarkSide · 28/01/2021 22:42

LOL - was also expecting something far worse - think you'll be fine tbh.

Now true grossness is an App advertised on my phone the other day that lets you pop pimples on the soles of virtual feet for fun. I felt quite queasy after seeing that - who the hell thinks of these things fgs !?!?
