Full briefs?

I'm 38. I needed some new underwear. I picked up a multi pack of black full briefs and had this warm feeling of wearing comfy pants but then a sense of dread came over me that as a 38 year old, I should not be buying big pants and that DH would probably piss himself (let's be honest, they are a bit of a passion killer I suppose!)

I compromised and got high legs in the end, but the more I think about it the more I wished that I had got the big ones!!

Yes - You are 38 not 78, buy a thong!
No - Comfy are the best, go and buy another pack of the big ones!

Another one for post baby pants, never looked back. I'm the same age as you.

1Morewineplease · 27/01/2021 18:41

I started wearing Sloggi maxi briefs after DC2 when I was 34.
Keeps your kidneys warm ( as my mum would say.) and no VPL! Very comfortable.
56 now... still wearing them. Husband guffaws but totally respects my choice.
The thought of a thong, boy short or any other type of fancy uncomfortable pant just makes me wince.

WithTheJonses · 27/01/2021 18:43

That's all I've worn since my dd was born 3 years ago. I'm 26! ....

Chickoletta · 27/01/2021 18:44

Another big pant fan here. I buy the single ones in M&S with lace around the sides. Think they’re technically midis but I love them. Could never go back to skimpy pants now. I’m 41.

As a PP said, DH does not need the sight of a pair of skimpy pants to want to DTD thank God!

georgarina · 27/01/2021 18:45

I haven't bought thongs in years haha. They're so uncomfortable!

I like Brazilian briefs - they're a good compromise. And comfortable!

FirstladyKirkman · 27/01/2021 18:47

I did try the boy shorts once but not sure if my shape/hips were at fault or just the brand I got because by the end of the day they would have just rolled down leaving a very unattractive roll mark across my bum. Also find the cut of them across the actual cheek annoying 🙄

I love a pair of apple catchers. Multipacks from M&S - I only wear the black or patterned ones, as the white ones make my arse look like a full moon.

FirstladyKirkman · 27/01/2021 18:51

@PanamaPattie

I'm on M&S now eyeing some 'knicker shorts' any specific recommendations?! Please Thanks

Holothane · 27/01/2021 19:01

Big knickers and have done for decades.

Arrierttyclock · 27/01/2021 19:02

I hattttte knickers! I'm on my period now so have to wear them and I just hate them! My fave are the seamless thongs from primark, they're so comfy!!

AnnaSW1 · 27/01/2021 19:04

It's hard to give up the big post birth pants. They are so comfy. But I made myself throw them in the bin because I thought it could be a slippery slope!!!

BejeweledCrocs · 27/01/2021 19:06

Yeah I love belly warmers!

Hotzenplotz · 27/01/2021 19:11

Thongs are vile. Nobody needs their arse flossed.

FirstladyKirkman · 27/01/2021 19:12

@Arrierttyclock

Maybe I haven't worn them properly (is there another way to wear them?!) or I have just gone to the wrong places but I find them soooooo uncomfortable. String up your bum and the middle bit (I'm not saying the G word) aren't particularly wide so you either spend most time readjusting yourself or cutting yourself in half!!

I've been wearing full briefs since I was pregnant with DC1...at 18!

I've got fancy pants too but for day to day big is best!
I can't stand thongs though

NeverEscaping · 27/01/2021 19:15

What's wrong with full briefs? I'm twenty four and only ever wear full briefs. Always have. Tried other styles but nothing beats the comfort of full briefs. I don't care if they aren't considered sexy, I'm the one wearing them and I want to be comfortable.

christmasathomeagain · 27/01/2021 19:18

I switched to big pants 4 years ago and never looked back. So comfy and look better as less squishing Of my body 😂

Puffalicious · 27/01/2021 19:20

My DH is a 'pants and bum' man so I have many and varied pants for bedroom use (never thongs!). For outside of the bedroom I moved to full briefs after DC3 (almost 9). The best out there are Sainsbury's cotton with lace waistband- so comfy and no VPL too. Come in packs of 3- I have 4 packs!

Puffalicious · 27/01/2021 19:23

Come in different colours too. All you thong wearers can thank me laterGrin

They're the choice of shoplifters the world over. Wink

LAgeDeRaisin · 27/01/2021 19:26

When I was 9 months pregnant I bought some enormous pants from Sainsbury's to wear after the birth. The biggest pants I could find. Like a circus tent to gently drape over my poorly nether regions. A yurt of cotton and elastane. A flaccid white flag of surrender.

She's now 10 months.

I'm wearing them right now.

Also a fan of Sloggi Maxi briefs.

FirstladyKirkman · 27/01/2021 19:38

@Puffalicious
