Won’t somebody think of the children (local Facebook groups)

So local fb group is up in arms as someone’s delivery got delivered to wrong address.
But wording of op is very “this is the only thing my kids had to look forward to this week. I hope whoever stole it chokes on it” etc etc.

Five minutes later “we’ll now we have a lovely meal from (local Japanese restaurant) instead - the kids even are some of it.

Aibu to think people that randomly bring their kids into fb complaints (that aren’t acout kids) are idiots if the highest order

Yes, I agree with you on that. Personally I think it is good for DC to experience and learn to cope with minor setbacks and disappointments on occasion. That is totally different from the distress caused both to them and to the parents by being in a situation where you're unable to meet their basic needs. I don't think anyone could really argue that a takeaway is a "basic need" for a child unless there's really not a slice of toast or can of beans in the house Grin.

It's bad...I saw a post on a freebie site for a free battered small dkny back back..."oh can I have this it would be perfect to hang on the back of my disabled sons wheelchair when I'm pushing him around" wtaf.
To be honest on that same post it wasn't just kids they used it was dead husbands....bare in mind it was a woman's bag..."can I have this please my husband died last year and he had a dkny bag this would be such a lovely reminder of him"
Some people have no shame.

Yeah I feel you OP. You really see it come out on FB competitions or offers of free stuff. Sob stories a go-go.

Saw one where the girl giving away free things deliberately chose someone who wasn't trying to tug at heartstrings. The "Me Aunty Sue Wud Luv It 4 Her Eleventy Million Rescue Rottweilers" brigade were pissed Grin

@bluebluezoo I wasn't disregarding the elderly or the vulnerable! They would also be on the priority list too and I would totally agree. As another poster has pointed out- power cut with a newborn who is bottle fed would be a nightmare. Personally I don't use social media so wouldn't post on there anyway.

Gosh my typing on a Saturday night after a glass of wine. Yes it’s the sob story mentality that I was getting at. And do these people not realise how transparent it is - the wheelchair example for a designer bag is exactly what I’m getting at.
