Husbands family all on WhatsApp group but I’ve not been added

My husband’s family have had a WhatsApp group going for a few years. All his aunties/uncles/cousins/parents/siblings are on it. This didn’t bother me until one day all of the cousin’s and sibling’s partners were added to the group except me. I’ve been with my husband for 8 years, longer than some of them have been with their partners. I feel really left out. AIBU?

This happened to me but we'd been together 17 years at that point. I didn't behave very gracefully and rather threw my toys out of the pram (not my finest moment) it was set up by my BIL who simply doesn't think and the comment I got was well DH should have just asked. I was really hurt, but on the plus side everyone is included now. I think the bit that got me worst was DH just assumed I was on there and kept mentioning stuff I had no clue about.

It's been said, but people are still posting 'You're lucky, I would love to get out of the family WhatsApp group' when OP obviously feels the opposite! What's the point?

OP, ask your husband to add you, or if he's not admin get him to ask the person who is to add you. If they won't, then you've got more of a problem.

In a large family group spouses are usually only added if the organiser knows them well, or the partner asks them to be added. Sounds like you struck out on both points lol
