To order a McDonalds?

fairynick · 22/01/2021 16:50

I’m the biggest McDonalds fan ever. I never order for delivery though because it’s £3.99, have done once or twice as a special treat. (I know some may say I’m unreasonable for loving mcdonalds so much when it’s overpriced over processed crap, but the heart wants what the heart wants😂)
I’m doing veganuary and have been sent a code for 40% of McDonald’s that runs out on Sunday. It would basically make the delivery free. Would one cheat meal defeat the whole point of veganuary? I won’t be carrying it on from 1st Feb but will definitely be incorporating more vegan food into my diet, particularly during the week.

Yes, I've just had a macdonalds on my way home from work. Order it and enjoy!

fairynick · 22/01/2021 17:51

McDonald’s isn’t on my just eat even though we have 3 within about 15 minutes of us, only on Uber eats here which is £3.99

sweetkitty · 22/01/2021 17:57

Get the Veggie burger minus the Mayonnaise but smother it in BBQ sauce instead (that’s what I do if I need crap food)

The new KFC vegan burger is really nice too (just saying Wink) nothing else to look forward to in lockdown

ufucoffee · 22/01/2021 18:07

No one is going to know if you stick to being a vegan during January so it doesn't matter if you have a McDonald's or not

tttigress · 22/01/2021 18:26

Do it.

I'm a regular in McDonald's, and I am surprised at the number of Uber Eat etc. Couriers picking up.

Given the price, I would never order as takeaway, unless it was as a special offer (also, I fortunately live in walking distance of a mcds!)

Kumquatsquash · 22/01/2021 18:30

Dry January and veganuary went out the window here the minute Boris Johnson announced the schools were closed.

Do it op. And tell your driver to pick up a bottle of gin on the way to yours 🍸

Iqqq · 22/01/2021 18:33

If you register with ubereats/justeat as a driver, they'll pay you to collect your own food Grin

Iknowwhatudidlastsummer · 22/01/2021 18:41

Anything "January" is rather stupid. No wonder people are so miserable, it's the worst month of the year to make these kind of changes, and why they don't stick.

S111n20 · 22/01/2021 19:05

Glad you have ordered. Enjoy !!

justaweeone · 22/01/2021 19:20

Go for it! Life is too short!!

@Lovemylittlebear

Veggie wrap :)
These ARE NOT vegan, the wraps contain milk
Terrylovesyogurt · 22/01/2021 19:40

Well done OP, hope you enjoyed it. You've made me feel better about breaking dry January tonight. Quite frankly, we all deserve it for putting up with this crap for so long Wine🍔🍟

Vates · 22/01/2021 19:44

I am glad you went with your gut (lol!) and ordered it :) I have followed a pescatarian diet for the last 3 years so don't eat meat (usually, there was that time when I was drunk...). I don't even eat a lot of fish but couldn't give up smoked salmon in the end. But I always get a blank look when I say I gave up eating meat not for moral reasons but the fact I got fed up with chewy, sinewy, veiny and boney food. I have a thing with textures, even with vegan friendly food like fruit being seedy and bitty. Ugh. Sorry I rambled on!

peak2021 · 22/01/2021 20:07

If you love McDonalds then you will be prepared to pay the extra and wait a few more days.

Sorry to read that you are, but saving a couple of pounds, just not worth it.

fairynick · 22/01/2021 20:08

@MoreMorelos the wraps have been approved by the vegan society, it’s very rare for wraps to include milk.
The veggie deluxe is listed as vegetarian but are vegan if you have the sauce removed :)

@peak2021 you’re probably right ... but I don’t regret it Wink

Enjoy!! We had a, takeaway tonight. Was lovely and a very rare treat.

Hotzenplotz · 22/01/2021 20:11

I could murder a Filet-o-Fish meal.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 22/01/2021 20:18

What did you go for? (No judging here, love a McDonald's)

Flavabobble · 22/01/2021 20:22

You’re very very unreasonable.

I say this because I’m craving a McDonald’s and Ubereats doesn’t deliver to me, it’ll let me get so far doing an order and then say we’re outside the delivery area.

TheBuffster · 22/01/2021 20:26

It's like breaking dry January. If you have a vodka on the 2nd you can't say you've done it. Welcome to do what you like, but you won't have 'acheived' anything.

Vegan options are available at McDonald's.

The coupon will have been issued for this exact reason to entice customers back. It's like pubs doing special offers in January.
