DH outside ringing our huge 'ranch hand dinner bell' and blasting an air horn

That is so funny and so lovely Across

RedToothBrush · 20/01/2021 16:54

One nation under God indivisible.

Thanks the those for the presence of both parties.

minou123 · 20/01/2021 16:54

@RedToothBrush

They were so desparate to get it done they are ahead of schedule!
Grin I think they could feel all America - not to mention the rest of us in the world - urging them on
BruceAndNosh · 20/01/2021 16:55

Nice nod to all (nearly) previous Presidents including Carter

PerkingFaintly · 20/01/2021 16:55

Thank you so much, thread friends. It's been emotional...

And raising a Wine to GingerIvy, who didn't get to see this.

RedToothBrush · 20/01/2021 16:55

"We have much to do in this winter of peril"

viques · 20/01/2021 16:55

I don’t wish Joe Biden ill, but it is an awesome thought that the USA is only a heartbeat away from a black, female president.

How do you like them apples Mr Trump.

tiredvommachine · 20/01/2021 16:57

No mention of the Chinese virus!

DumpTrump · 20/01/2021 16:57

I feel so emotional watching this. We were happily living in America until we fell foul of Trump's nonsensical immigration policy. Our whole life was upturned in two weeks and we will never recover financially. I am so pleased to see the back of Trump for personal reasons but also pleased for America and hope that healing can begin.

RedToothBrush · 20/01/2021 16:57

Reference to the emancipation treaty and Lincoln saying his whole soul was in it.

JanuaryChill · 20/01/2021 16:57

(It's a good job those of us watching on BBC News, evidently several minutes behind you lot on CNN or whatever, don't mind the spoilers you keep giving!)

StealthPolarBear · 20/01/2021 16:58

Specifically mentioned white supremacy. Really really hope this is the turning point for the western world.

Youngatheart00 · 20/01/2021 16:58

Cried at Gaga...so moving!

gwenneh · 20/01/2021 16:58

The whole soul is in it. I love that.

itsgettingweird · 20/01/2021 16:58

Biden's voice is captivating.

Decision is no more. Such a powerful sentence.

I know! 😂
SabrinaThwaite · 20/01/2021 16:58

It’s live on Sky News ...

DGRossetti · 20/01/2021 16:58

We were happily living in America until we fell foul of Trump's nonsensical immigration policy.

Isn't that the very first big move by the new team - a comprehensive legal package that provides a route to citizenship ?

RedToothBrush · 20/01/2021 16:59

This is a good speech. A speech for the moment. Its not a great timeless speech. But it definitely has its moments.

itsgettingweird · 20/01/2021 16:59

I'm watching on itv. Only because my tv was already on that channel when I got in from work and switched it on!

BruceAndNosh · 20/01/2021 17:00

This is how a leader should speak.

tiredvommachine · 20/01/2021 17:00

I make it midday now 🍾

Serin · 20/01/2021 17:00

He speaks with such sincerity.

RedToothBrush · 20/01/2021 17:00

Its noon.

viques · 20/01/2021 17:00

How refreshing it is to hear a President who can speak in sentences.

Only wish we had a PM who could as well.
