Any magnum advert where it's ALWAYS a woman sucking on the ice cream like it's a penis. Always a close up of big juicy lips getting through the chocolate layer with a look of ecstasy on her face. This made me laugh. Many year ago when I was young I worked for a large police force and for 3 years worked with the vice squad. The local ice cream van did a roaring trade with the women who worked from a local street. They would sit in the windows, scantily dressed licking ice cream. I used to wonder how they could face that much ice cream but I guess there are worse elements to their way of life.

I really like the Birds Eye "we are veggies, we are healthy" one. Because my daughter likes it, so it's fab for meal times. Cheers Birds Eye!

That other incontinence pants advert where the 20-something model wearing them says something banal like “Now I feel pretty AND protected!”

Like anyone else is going to see...

@nonetcurtains

I hate the one advertising laundry scent boosters where various bods roll around in clean white sheets in public - specially the lady who sits up and screams "what is it?????" God above. I really could smack that one.

Oh yes - the one with the strange haircut. When she finds out the bedding has not been washed for a week and loads of other randoms have sweated in it, she actually snuggles down in it rather than running down the street shuddering for a shower as anyone else would

"I didn't know Oral B made toothpaste!" Can't think of many more obvious things a brand with oral right there in the name might be making!

Sometimes the aim for advertisers is just to get the name and product out there. In this case not only have you seen it and remembered, you have also spread it round to loads of other people.
Seems like you are doing them a favour with your anger.

I don't know why threads about ads seem to provoke so many responses, but we all must have our tipping points of rage, especially at the moment, as we are all so cooped up at home.
May I tentatively suggest that I love the AA ad?
It's simple and effective, as in it reinforces the brand, including its colours, and it also gives a sense of future freedom.
Plus, what's not to like about a woolly dog?

Oh that one is really horrible (she's more like mid to late thirties than 20-something); as if incontinence is ever 'pretty', however it's wrapped up.

@CaptainMyCaptain

In our house we like the advert with the girl getting the pound coin from the trolley but I don't know what it's for.

We like that one too. I'm not sure what it is for either.

I cannot stand the M&Ms ad where the husband walks in the wife and the two M&M characters. It is super creepy.

What worries me about this is it 'normalises' incontinence, which is okay on the one hand, BUT women who leak when using weights like in the advert should stop using heavy weights until they have improved their pelvic floor strength.

Any women's physio will tell you that lifting weights will only make leaks worse and damage the pelvic floor more.

I like that advert too. My dog on the other hand, hates it. I have to quickly turn over when it comes on as I'm sick of cleaning nose prints off the TV screen.
(He loves the lottery one - I think its the giant bouncy balls)

"I know how to keep my body healthy but how do I keep my mouth healthy?" asked by someone with perfect white teeth.

I think it's for Always, the tennis one where it starts by saying "Some people think being a woman means being soft and gentle" or similar. I shout at the telly when it comes on. Who? Who thinks that?

Who works in marketing, then?

Do these shitty, lazy, infuriating adverts actually work? How do you know?

I can't believe that an entire industry doesn't realise that they are annoying their target markets.

Is it all ideas from focus groups and free lunches that design the advert?

TBH they started with electric toothbrushes and I think toothpaste came later. But best to check :)
