In your opinion

I would say reality TV , don't mind people not watching it but people seem obsessed with hating it.

OP posts:
WhateverHappenedToMe · 15/01/2021 21:18

People over 70.

sortmylifeoutplease · 15/01/2021 22:07

Loo brushes

Martinisarebetterdirty · 15/01/2021 22:33

Feminists

Ilovetea33 · 16/01/2021 04:25

Definitely marzipan and musicals. And custard in any shape or form.

eaglejulesk · 16/01/2021 04:58

I agree with pigeons (I like them) and dirt - yes we need some in our lives and all this incessant cleaning and disinfecting is madness.

eaglejulesk · 16/01/2021 04:59

Oh, and baby boomers (I am one!)

MrsLuciferMorningstar · 16/01/2021 05:05

@Ringshanks

Also , mother -in -laws ! It seems to be the default position to ascribe dark motives to everything they say or do . Mine is fabulous but surely most are just people , good and bad like the rest of us
Totally agree. My MIL is a fab lady 👏👏😁😁
Womencanlift · 16/01/2021 05:58

Weddings have evening receptions - perfectly normal where I am from and people are not offended if they are invited to one (unless they are the sister to the bride or something and then that would be understandable).

It is amusing to see how offended some MN posters get about these

Womencanlift · 16/01/2021 05:59

And also having friends at work - apparently that is unthinkable in the world of MN but perfectly normal in real life

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 16/01/2021 06:09

Grey interiors. I'm not a huge fan of the bling grey, but really, who gives a shit how someone else decorates their home? Everyone on mn seems to want their house colourful as a fucking rainbow! It's the same with baby clothes. They've all to be mismatched, second hand and bright colours, because apparently that's what children want 🙄.

camelfinger · 16/01/2021 06:14

Polyester.

Macncheeseballs · 16/01/2021 06:15

Cyclists

mrsnibblesisahero · 16/01/2021 06:54

Face masks. I look infinitely better in mine as it hides most of my saggy face. Semi lighthearted.

Asda food. Some very good meat. Sunday roast meat choice often better than Waitrose.

Londoners. Ridiculous attitude some people have to the population of a whole City. I'm not a Londoner but can see it.

Jillypots · 16/01/2021 07:01

Formula. It saved my daughter’s life, as owing to the cut cs of her birth my body just wasn’t up to producing milk. But to some of the Breast is Best nazis it is devil’s food. (Yes, breast is best, I know, but for many and varied reasons, not everyone can do it )

Another vote for J K Rowling

Jillypots · 16/01/2021 07:02

Cut cs = circumstances

WingingItSince1973 · 16/01/2021 07:17

@PainterInPeril hello. Yes in the Midlands xxx

pictish · 16/01/2021 07:26

Mils. Sometimes it’s the selfish madam OP that’s the problem not her mil and I think it’s fairly obvious at times...but no, it’s an inevitable barrage of replies denigrating the mil for fuck all.

Hoiking · 16/01/2021 07:37

The Daily Mail.

hartof · 16/01/2021 07:59

New Builds - I've owned an old house and a new house and I 109% prefer the new house.

Also grey interiors, I like it but I have colours mixed with grey so it's not the typical grey and white new build.

GavsCloakOfInvisibility · 16/01/2021 08:06

JK Rowling.

Looking 'mumsy' - What exactly is wrong with being mumsy if that's your thing? So much horror expressed around this!

BorderlineHappy · 16/01/2021 08:07

Baby girls wearing pink and big bows.

Who cares, people froth at the mouth at the idea on here.

puffinkoala · 16/01/2021 08:28

Bottle feeding, cyclists, runners

Also didn't know it was such a faux pas to wear beige to a wedding if you weren't the bride

RainbowsAndFrogs · 16/01/2021 08:36

Breast feeding past baby hood
Fed my daughter till 4 and she's a lovely happy confident healthy 6 year old now. It wasn't for me, i didn't love it for the last 18 months. People act horrified feeding past about 2yo but no one even knew about it unless we had a conversation about it.

the80sweregreat · 16/01/2021 10:05

The loo brush thing was never an issue for me before I joined mumsnet ! I clean and buy new brushes for the holders now and again didn't see a problem till I started reading this forum!
Another vote for J k R as I love the Strike and Potter books she is a brilliant writer.
Don't wash towels after every use. Bedding once a week. I'm still alive.
Reality tv has its place the first big brothers were quite good fun.

pictish · 16/01/2021 10:13

The concept of reality tv is good. It should be great viewing. The problem lies with the people they put on it. A steady stream of self-absorbed wannabes with BIG PERSONALITIES isn’t particularly interesting or informative. It’s just basic dross.
