To think that she should just stop commenting on my name?

I've been part of this local tight-knit volunteering group for about a year now. Recently, there was a change in 'leadership' which is fine. I have, however, been told by her (twice!) to change my email address (it's listed in the private group listing) as it looks 'rude'!

My email address is simply firstnamelastname, with my first name being probably the most popular shortened variant of a fairly popular name. In her eyes, it contains nothing but 2 bad words which 'gives the wrong impression'. Surely people aren't that daft to not realise that it's just my name, and a well-known one at that?

I'm gobsmacked by the ridiculousness of it all. AIBU?

I think if your email address is something like dickcox@, you should probably change it.

If it’s clearly a name but could be wilfully misinterpreted, I’d leave it.

I would say YANBU unless people do first of all read it as rude and it is offensively so. Just rude is fine IMO.
