I know it's not yet NYE, but I have been stuck in the house several days. I can drink some tonight, and some tomorrow! (It will retain its fizz enough to last... the old fork trick!)

it's all I had in the house...

Oooh have fun! I was tempted but will hold off until DP gets home from work tomorrow. While he's out I'm going to have a bath and a bit of pampering and plan to do my hair, make up and put on a nice frock, just to drink wine / champagne on the couch for the evening.

SuddenArborealStop · 30/12/2020 22:07

What's the fork trick

WhatTheFoot · 30/12/2020 22:08

I would like to hear more about the fork..

AndcalloffChristmas · 30/12/2020 22:08

Upside down fork or spoon in the neck of the bottle. Somehow helps it keep its fizz.

HalfBrick · 30/12/2020 22:08

Yanbu, it's not like we've got anything else to do. Cheers and Happy New Year to you.

DariaMorgendorffer · 30/12/2020 22:08

YADNBU!

Enjoy every sip!

openallthetime · 30/12/2020 22:10

thanks people, I feel a bit better about it now knowing others are approving Grin providing I don't overindulge tonight, lol

the last time i did the fork trick it worked! (Upside down in the bottle helps it stay fizzy) so hope it works this time!!

HandlebarLadyTash · 30/12/2020 22:27

TheGlitterFairy · 30/12/2020 22:33

Good for you - enjoy!!! 🍾🥂

YesPleaseMary · 30/12/2020 22:34

Love champagne, enjoy!

Carishina · 30/12/2020 22:57

I thought the fork trick was going to be when you’ve had a few glasses you say “oh fork it, I might as well finish the bottle”. Grin

nanbread · 30/12/2020 22:59

YABU because the fork / spoon trick rarely works, IMO, and finding space for an open Magnum in the fridge is tricky

grassisjeweled · 30/12/2020 23:00

Fork it, open it 🥂

Livpool · 30/12/2020 23:01

Ooh I am jealous - YANBU

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 30/12/2020 23:04

I'm just finishing a bottle that I opened on Christmas morning
(not a magnum magnums get eaten very quickly, especially raspberry ones)

The fork/teaspoon thing is a myth - stays effervescent without it, jsut keep it in the fridge. Mine has less fizz after five days, but is way from flat.

Enjoy!!! 🍾

Ah, you’re familiar with my fork trick 😂

Ugh wrong quote sorry!
Tootletum · 30/12/2020 23:09

I can barely drink half a normal bottle without being hammered, so I've no idea how you're going to make any inroads. Good luck...

loveyouradvice · 30/12/2020 23:15

You go girl!!!

Great thinking - enjoy EVERY mouthful!

NannyGythaOgg · 30/12/2020 23:16

If there's no room in the fridge, cover it well and pop it outside - it's colder than the fridge.

Wheresmykimchi · 30/12/2020 23:21

What's a magnum Grin

openallthetime · 30/12/2020 23:34

@NannyGythaOgg good thinking! I've just realised there's no way I can possibly fit an open magnum in my fridge, fork or not!! Thank you for saving my champers.... BlushFlowers
