to think that Centerparcs is a waste of money at the moment

They have just emailed us to encourage us to book a break but if you are staying for four nights you can only go swimming twice and only for two hours.

For us swimming has always been the main attraction as we all love swimming.

What are you asking us? You've answered your own question

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 30/12/2020 13:07

Center parks is to expensive for that IMHO.

AndcalloffChristmas · 30/12/2020 13:08

I think it would be amazing to go now while they have the swimming sessions, as apparently it’s really quiet in each session and no queues.

Lockheart · 30/12/2020 13:08

Think whatever you like, why would you be unreasonable?

Apollo3 · 30/12/2020 13:11

Centre parcs is always a waste of money, because its shit.

myusernamewastakenbyme · 30/12/2020 13:11

CenterParcs has always been a huge waste of money.

TheSockMonster · 30/12/2020 13:13

We usually get great value for money out of Centerparcs. The pool is a big part of that though.

I think it would still be good value for some, but not us.

blue25 · 30/12/2020 13:15

Center Parcs is crap at the best of times, so I certainly wouldn’t bother at the moment.

Paddingtonthebear · 30/12/2020 13:20

They are closed until at least 7th January according to their website. I wouldn’t bother booking anything at the moment

nosswith · 30/12/2020 13:23

At the moment? My understanding is that it has always been expensive.

MagnoliaBeige · 30/12/2020 13:26

We justify the cost by swimming at least twice a day, not even considering booking until it’s back to unlimited access.

cushioncovers · 30/12/2020 13:29

So they have limited the only free thing there is to do there. We went once never again nearly had to remortgage the house to pay for activities

BaubleBubble · 30/12/2020 13:29

2 hours is plenty long enough for us although the kids would prefer to go swimming every day. Might be worth fewer sessions for the quiet space.

However I’d only want to go back when kids were allowed to mingle and run freely outside (not reined in per the 2m rule), the playgrounds, soft play areas in the restaurants, the little activity sessions etc running as normal, and no masks indoors for anyone. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer 🤞

ChazP · 30/12/2020 13:29

The only way we feel we get our money’s worth at Center Parcs is to be in the pool at least once a day. There’s no way we’ll go back until unlimited swimming is available again.

Changeismyname · 30/12/2020 13:30

We’ve been since lockdown and while the swimming restrictions have been in place. It was the most pleasant pool experience we’ve had there by a country mile. Not as crowded, could get on the slides really easily, loads of free changing rooms. But we wouldn’t spend all day every day there anyway. It was enough for us.

Tal45 · 30/12/2020 13:31

I could never understand the appeal of Centreparcs especially after seeing the price in the school holidays.

Nonamesavail · 30/12/2020 13:32

Is there a discount due to the services?

Lemonpiano · 30/12/2020 13:32

Don't go then. Problem solved.

Changeismyname · 30/12/2020 13:32

And by the way its 2 hours per each of your allowed sessions, and it’s 2 sessions for 3 or 4 night breaks.

sotiredofthislonelylife · 30/12/2020 13:33

I have had many many short breaks at Center Parcs, going back to the early ’90’s, often with family. It used to be quite reasonably priced, but certainly not now!!
My DH pointed out that we could go abroad for the same money, and that would include flights and food.
I still love the concept, but not the cost.

Toffeefee23 · 30/12/2020 13:34

I think it would be amazing - pool is normally so busy it’s hell on earth .
I would expect to use it once per day of my stay but would be happy with 2 hours if it meant quieter pool. Would be happy with that in non-Covid times

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 30/12/2020 13:36

I’d not be going as feel holidays should wait until it’s safe to help stop the spread but the pool thing wouldn’t bother me as don’t use it anyway. Prefer the other activities with less people.

Goslowlysideways · 30/12/2020 13:36

You're right it's insane. I'm amazed people are happy to pay such a lot of money for such a crap holiday. The whole point is going for swimming. Twice is nothing.

AndcalloffChristmas · 30/12/2020 13:38

I also feel like 2 hours is plenty long enough to be in a pool!

stayathomer · 30/12/2020 13:42

CenterParcs has always been a huge waste of money.
I've never been but I've always heard it's more like a holiday of a lifetime so you're willing to spend for it because it's something you won't be able to do very often so kind of like Disneyland or something like that. Everyone I've ever known who's gone say it was one of their best holidays
