Would you do frontal nudity if you were an actress?

For a lead role in a show like Game of Thrones or The Witcher?

I'm just getting back into acting (I went to drama school and did some acting work in my 20's) and recently, got a decent agent. I was asked to do a self tape for a new show not dissimilar to the above. Although, it didn't specify nudity I am paranoid that if I got the part they may ask to see the melons.

I believe Emilia Clarke has spoken about being fresh out of drama school and was pressured into doing nude scenes which she was uncomfortable with.

Depends. To depict something where it is warranted, yes. I'd happily get my boobs or vag out for a birthing or otherwose necessary scene.

Definitely, but only if it were part of moving a story forward or within the context of the piece. Though why any writer or director would use my flabby carcass in a narrative context is beyond me.

Acting is about using your body as a vessel for a character which drives a story forwards. Whether you’re an exponent of Strasberg, Stanislavsky or Brecht (or a thousand methods in between) your nudity must be within context for both character & story. Otherwise it’s just tits for titillation’s sake.

It's nearly 2021 sisters! There is never a place for a woman to be naked on film when a male actor isn't required to.

I'm not a prude. I just want the film industry to be a lot less sexist and misogynistic. It's up to women actors to stop themselves being exploited, because the men around them are not going to do it for them!

Depends. I remeber the gunpowder plot programme, and the older women is stripped naked. It was meant to be humiliating as part of the story. It was in no way sexual. She was brave but not sure if I would be happy to do that.

I’m in my sixties now so I would do full everything and not bat an eyelid but in my younger years definitely not!

Can't stand nudity on TV because 99% of the time, it's pointless - doesn't add anything to the story and only there to satisfy urges.

But it's your CHOICE. If you don't feel comfortable, you shouldn't go through with it. You can always add 'no nudity' clause and take what you get.

If you do feel comfortable, then do it regardless of what others can do/not, as long as you don't decide years later that you were forced and had no choice.

I wouldn't. I feel all nudity is gratuitous on screen. There are a million adult themed TV shows that portray sexual relationships without nudity, let alone all the hundreds of films from before, say, 1970ish that just didn't need it.

It is all titilation. None of it serves a purpose.

On your Tagmin (and possibly spotlight) there are yes or no to nude work options.

If it’s a no - just tell your agent! It’s not a problem if you don’t want to do it.
