To consider someone losing three stone of weight in two months

Very concerning

Not concerning. In fact now recommended to reverse T2 diabetes and reduce impact of some other conditions. The evidence suggests the faster weight loss is motivating for further loss and losing 15kg in 8-12 weeks via VLCD is safe enough either through a managed plan or balanced food. If you'd like to support your friend in her goals, you can do this by avoiding meeting for meals or situations that may involve food, and doing things like offering her cakes (one won't hurt ... go on).

Its quite often friends who derail best attempts. They tend to think of someone as their fat friend and use them to feel better about themselves and don't like the readjustment to them not being fat. It's quite disturbing psychology - you'd not dare to consider a black/ asian/disabled friend in the same way.

Only read OPs messages but could they be doing Fast800?

New research suggests that if done in the right way, rapid weight loss is genuinely the way forward.

I lost 2 stone in 2.5 months, started at 11.5 stone and have been doing it in a very health manner.

@Tellmelies65

It’s just all the advice always says to lose weight slowly is best for keeping it. I would imagine rapid weight loss can lead to excess skin and stretch marks to.
I thought that had been debunked now?

All weight loss can lead to loose skin, putting it back on, etc etc. Honestly unless you genuinely think she’s making herself ill (and it doesn’t sound like she is), just assume she’s intelligent enough to make her own decisions, tell her you’re proud of her and support her. You get so much pressure when overweight to lose it, but then so many obstacles when you actually try and do something about it, don’t be one of those obstacles!
