% chance of holiday going ahead

We’re booked to go to Finland on 17 January - we live in a tier 2 area but will be flying from London (currently tier 4). Finland is currently banning tourists until 12 Jan.

We need to plan ahead a bit as we’d need to cancel care arrangements if we’re not going (will be expensive to cancel last minute).

I think we still have a reasonable chance of it going ahead as the tiers will have been reviewed then. DH thinks 0% and the holiday company just haven’t cancelled it yet.

What % chance do you think there is of it going ahead?

I think 65%

It’s been cancelled by the tour operator- you were all correct!
I just hope it snows here now so that I can use the skiing-related presents I got for Christmas.

Bad luck though.

We were supposed to ski in feb half term but easy jet cancelled our flights weeks ago. I'm not bothered as I no longer wanted to go anyway We will try to next year.

Ski slopes are shut and I can't see them being opened until at least March.

Zero, no chance, ain’t gonna happen, no way.

Only a few days ago people were fleeing Switzerland rather than isolate, so you might get to your destination then find yourself trapped.

MargosKaftan · 31/12/2020 10:07

Well at least you've got a couple of weeks to sort out. Hope you are able to cancel everything else.

In the circumstances I am glad your tour operator has taken decisive action and not left you hanging on.
