Solve our family argument
Mum ate both ends of chocolate log.
Unreasonable or not?

@persistentwoman

Just be glad it wasn't the bloody dog OP - eyes up guilty party who spent Christmas eve at the vets throwing up. Angry

(he's fine now)

Haha poor doggo🐶

At least he’s alright - hopefully you’ll laugh at this story in time!

Turn and turn about to eat the "end" here. Or judgement of Solomon is exercised and we split it down the middle.

twittwootwittwoo · 26/12/2020 01:27

That's the only reason why I buy one and the reason why I dish it out 😆

LindaEllen · 26/12/2020 01:42

Ha, I am unreasonable, as my parents brought us a Christmas dinner today (I am perfectly capable of cooking but it made dad feel better about us staying home if he brought us food) and with it came two slices of amazing home made Yule log.

DP didn't even find out we'd been given one of the ends 😆😆 I suppose a good person would have split both in two ... I am not that person.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 26/12/2020 01:48

This happened in our house once and so now everyone has their own chocolate log and they can eat it in whatever sequence they choose. (but not in one go!)

However there are eight people in our household and with so many partially eaten logs we actually have a chocolate wood pile in the kitchen. Grin

My husband only likes a little bit and finds the ends too chocolatey so he doesn't eat them anyway. And my son also seems to prefer the middle for the same reason. There is no one else so I have both ends, which is great for me because I love the ends, they're the best part.

WelcomeToGreenvale · 26/12/2020 02:28

Fine by me. Don't like the ends as much as the middle. The same with brownies. And pizza, tbh. Crusty foods are just not for me.

SD1978 · 26/12/2020 02:31

LTB........it's like eating both ends of the garlic bread. This is immediate non contact for ever behaviour........Christmas ruined, kids permanently scarred........🤣🤣🤣

roastedpudding · 26/12/2020 03:47

It's not unreasonable if I eat both ends but it is if anybody else does Grin

ApolloandDaphne · 26/12/2020 05:25

I would do this. I have no shame.

InsertRudeWord · 26/12/2020 05:32

Unreasonable unless it was really dried up. If it wasn't dried up, make sure it is next year!

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 26/12/2020 07:06

were the ends marzipan, or just chocolate?

illdoitlater · 26/12/2020 08:06

So wrong!! We used to have to split the end to save arguments and make it fair.

roastedpudding · 26/12/2020 14:12

@EveryDayIsADuvetDay

were the ends marzipan, or just chocolate?
Stop! Where do I buy this delight? I've never seen one with marzipan ends before.
nosswith · 26/12/2020 14:23

Does you mum eat both crusts on a loaf of bread first?

Very unreasonable.

Beamur · 26/12/2020 14:25

Good for your Mum! I like her style.

Snowpatrolling · 26/12/2020 14:34

As a mother who did this yesterday, totally reasonable, I bought it, I got there first! :)
