Solve our family argument
Mum ate both ends of chocolate log.
Unreasonable or not?

Yeah - if she did all the work it's totally fine. Make your own log and then eat both ends and the middle as well. Sorted!

PurplePlain · 25/12/2020 20:07

I'm really shocked that some of you would do this! But, on the other hand, I commend you for not being martyr mums who cater for everyone else and eat a stale crust at midnight. CakeCake

@TodgerStrunk

If she made it - fair does. If she bought it - finders keepers. Of she did Every Fucking Thing for Christmas - still ok.

Otherwise - nah.

Absolutely this!
laudemio · 25/12/2020 20:17

If your mum did all the cooking she is not unreasonable. But if she sat around all day drinking gin and playing with dgc then I admire her front!

Nicolastuffedone · 25/12/2020 20:19

Good for you mum! Hope you enjoyed it....🥂

Sexnotgender · 25/12/2020 20:20

She’s a monster

MispyM · 25/12/2020 20:20

Reasonable in the sense that she took the best. Unreasonable because nobody else got it.... Soooo

Chickychickydodah · 25/12/2020 20:22

Good for her! Go mum 🤣🤣

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 25/12/2020 20:23

@TheBuffster

YANBU- she should have left a slice YABU- it's Christmas and she got there first!
Did both her 'ends' meet in the middle then?
FromJohnOGroatsToElmersEnd · 25/12/2020 20:34

In our house we used to slice the log through the middle width ways and length ways, that way everyone (there were four of us) got the same amount of ‘end’. No parents sacrificing themselves for the children in our house!

IamnotaStepfordHousewife · 25/12/2020 20:37

YANBU

SunshineCake · 25/12/2020 20:49

Selfish rather than unreasonable unless everyone else dislikes the ends.

altiara · 25/12/2020 21:30

Go mum!

TaraR2020 · 25/12/2020 21:38

I voted YANBU....but if it were me enough ate both ends, I don't think I'd feel any shame! Xmas Grin

TaraR2020 · 25/12/2020 21:38

*who

Don't know what autocorrect was thinking 🤦‍♀️

Minky37 · 25/12/2020 21:40

The rules in my house are ... if I buy it, I’m having an end. You should have got in quicker!

KindergartenKop · 25/12/2020 21:41

Acceptable if she hosted.

AdaColeman · 25/12/2020 21:43

Cook's perks I'd say! Cake Cake

Frannibananni · 25/12/2020 21:43

Yeah your Mums a bitch

Merryweather80 · 25/12/2020 21:48

Very very unreasonable.
We have this argument every year, so this year I bought two. My mom isn't fond of chocolate (she's insane, all the lovely sticky, gooey ganache loneliness is just the best!) so the girls had an end piece each, Dp and I had en end each. No argument! Ds was too young this year (7 months) but next year........ I think I had better buy three.

Want2beme · 25/12/2020 21:53

My chocolate log didn't have any ends. I was shockedXmas Grin. I always have an end! But no one person should have both ends. Def unreasonable.

goose1964 · 25/12/2020 22:01

DS1 got both ends, but it's because DH and I had two pieces yesterday and he only had one

HmmSureJan · 25/12/2020 22:07

Selfish.

but I have done this more than once

NewlyGranny · 25/12/2020 22:12

Does she also cut the nose when she's at the cheeseboard? She needs watching!

Pahaha. Mum's asked me to set the record straight. Yes she did all the work. No she didn't eat the whole thing. I'm vegan, so it was just her and my brother battling it out. I will definitely suggest getting two next year!😉
