Merry Christmas. Southern Comfort is horrible

I’m an argumentative old cow, but I genuinely enjoy talking to many people on here - so can I:

A) Wish you a Merry Christmas; and

B) Warn you that, if you run out of wine and decide a shot of something from the spirits cupboard will help you sleep, Southern Comfort is a bad choice? It’s like childhood medicine without the promise of feeling better 🤮🤮🤮

Ugh even the smell of southern comfort makes me feel ill. Used to be my fave drink when I was 19. Until I drank an entire bottle of it in a night. Never again. Even hearing the name makes me queasy sometimes.

i was really ill on this nearly 30 years ago and haven't touched it since. i don't even like the smell.

Dh bought 3 x ltr bottles for Christmas and stashed them out the way in the garage. They never saw Christmas and he had to buy another last week. Santa may have got him one too!
He drinks it in a pint glass. Quarter neat blackcurrant juice, quarter southern comfort and half pepsi max. Actually drinkable.

Southern comfort is like distilled sick.

I don't drink at all, so obviously don't like Southern Comfort, but it's my husband's tipple of choice. He drinks it with orange juice.

I can't drink it now after several dozen unfortunate nights between the ages of 17 and 43.

Oops sorry yes I meant Lemon and Paeroa as found by Bookworming. I don't think it's widely available in the UK - we used to go to Shepherd's Bush and buy it off kiwis.

You could probably mix it with any soft drink - lemonade or cola would be fine probably.

Haven't tried southern comfort with worcester sauce

I don't drink but I have fond memories of Southern Comfort .

Mixed with Canada Dry and a slice of orange .
Not orange juice

I tried with lime , it made my teeth squeaky !

@AllGongNoDinner southern comfort and lemonade was my favourite. There was a bar in town that did triples for £1 + mixer. I was often in there!

It was quite popular at my 6th form college in the early 90s.

Southern Comfort and dry ginger was my drink of choice in my 20s. But I don’t think I could stomach it now.

I love Southern Comfort with coke and ice. Not an insomnia remedy though.

YABU Southern Comfort is lovely. Don't be ruining it with coke either.

I have not drunk southern comfort for 30 years I got very drunk in it when I was a teenager. It’s a sort of like a poisonous sherbert did dab kind of a drink.

It's lovely with green ginger wine

My eldest child should be called Southern, or Comfort
