ASOS delivery to my house but not in my name

There was a knock at the door earlier, when l answer it the delivery woman ask my name and l say it. She gives me a parcel and says is for me. I open it, don’t recognise any of the stuff and then look at the label which has someone else’s name on it 🤷‍♀️. My fiancé has been dropping little hints all week about a surprise delivery so l had assumed it was this.

I haven’t ordered anything from ASOS for years and never to this address. None of it is my size or length. Fiancé rang me on his lunch from work, he knows nothing about it.

Is this dodgy? Feels odd as we have lived here 4 years, it’s not the previous owners name either. My neighbour has lived here for 10+ years and doesn’t know the persons name. The whole address is correct (it’s not a popular address and no similar ones nearby) and correct full postcode

Well when you put it like that, I do think it's kind of selfish to not take a minute out of your day (especially when you seem to have plenty to spare to make this thread, read replies, check people's posting history...) to send one bloody email letting asos know of their mistake. Fuck whoever will be wondering where their parcel is though right?

It’s an ASOS parcel, not her missing first-born child.

NuniaBeeswax · 24/12/2020 20:10

People are allowed to wonder where they stuff they've paid for is 😂

StillCoughingandLaughing · 24/12/2020 20:14

Who said they’re not?

NuniaBeeswax · 24/12/2020 20:25

"It’s an ASOS parcel, not her missing first-born child"

What was this supposed to mean?

Charlie63849 · 24/12/2020 20:32

I’d be well fucked off if you took in my parcel and then opened it and went through it. Nosey cow, you can see it wasn’t your name on the parcel.

SeasonFinale · 24/12/2020 20:32

I don't understand why you have plenty of time while you are working to play on Mumsnet but not contact ASOS to find out who it should go to or on SM platforms to track the owner.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 24/12/2020 20:38

What was this supposed to mean?

It means that, while whoever ordered the parcel might be a bit pissed off, it isn’t going to ruin their life if the OP doesn’t send the email right this second.

NuniaBeeswax · 24/12/2020 21:10

No one said that it would lol. Just if op has time to post stuff on here about it they have time to send an email to asos customer services. That is all.

OP I don’t think it was so strange that you accepted the delivery. We had a delivery a few weeks ago in a heavily branded box, a brand that I really like. DH accepted it, then realised that the name wasn’t mine but the address was correct. He didn’t think too much of it until I got home that evening. He’d wondered if a friend had used our address to have a gift delivered or something. It turned out that the rightful owner had the same house number and street address as us but in a different county, so must have used one of those address finders where you start to type your address and then selected the wrong one. Luckily her phone number was in tiny print on the package so we were able to get in touch and send it on to her. Anyway, I bet that’s what has happened with this parcel Smile

Why is there so much anger and aggression on this post. It's Christmas FFS Grin

WhatKatyDidNxt · 24/12/2020 22:10

@StillCoughingandLaughing exactly, this is way out of proportion Confused. I put a message on a busy local Facebook group but no joy as yet. I sent an email to ASOS, on the 2nd attempt it worked and l got an acknowledgment email. No sign of the navy seals and / or a helicopter yet. It’s a busy day for me so yeah not top of my priority list lm afraid, between work and sorting my own last minute Christmas stuff.

We use the 'next door' app, as we are not on F.B.

About 5 neighbours are trying to find parcels this week.

WhatKatyDidNxt · 24/12/2020 22:15

@Charlie63849 at least l know my own address, unlike the purchaser most likely. I wasn’t thrilled by bangs on the door disrupting me, l have done my bit but yeah they need to take some responsibility. I’ve done more than most, l know my mother most likely would stick it in a cupboard and forget about it for days

@TonkinLenkicks l know! Most people are very crabby. From my perspective working is somewhat different to just having to worry about which biscuit or Quality Street you eat next
