Am I selfish to visit Tier 4

I understand the rules but am trying to apply some logic. If my DP and I self isolate (see nobody/wash all deliveries) for 14 days before going and then isolate for 14 days upon returning home, are we being selfish?

We would drive down and have no contact with others for 28 days (14 days each side)

What so mumsnetters think?!

We are both very privileged to be work from home until March. I’m desperate to see my elderly grandfather but wouldn’t want to cause deaths
YANBU to want to visit him and I personally would too in your situation.

But YABU to think that COVID is the only cause of death. It you “don’t wavy yo cause deaths” you’d better stop driving, eating fish (commercial fishing is one of the most dangerous professions), using electronics (miners risk their lives getting the minerals that are needed for the components) and so on and so on...

You're not likely to pick up anything at your grand-dad's. I wouldn't bother isolating on your return.

What if your car breaks down?

@Bazinga007

What if your car breaks down?
Here we go again, the usual MN refrain. How often do cars break down? Believe it or not AA men wear masks and can social distance.
