So we have had a mental few months, I had a baby who was prem and in NICU she is doing wonderfully well.
Then my DD7 who is a heart transplant patient caught sepsis.
I have an older DS13.
Due to visiting rules I was the only parent allowed with DD1 and DP only parent allowed with DD2.
We were going to be completely split in 2 over xmas and was so worried about DS.

Well today it’s been confirmed that DD2 will be discharged from NICU on Wednesday and DD1 who still requires IV antibiotics is stable enough to go home with them if I train over the next 3 days to give them she can come home on Xmas eve !!!!

It’s a bloody Xmas miracle ❤️❤️❤️

midinthenight · 21/12/2020 08:31

Amazing news! Have the hospital rules meant you haven't been able to see dd2 at all since dd1 was in hospital? How awful for you.

What a wonderful Christmas you will have, enjoy being together.

barnanabas · 21/12/2020 08:33

This is wonderful news. I remember your previous thread and what a horrible situation it was.

We had a (considerably less difficult) situation years ago of being in-and-out of hospital with DT1 in the run-up to Christmas. The relief and joy I felt when we got the all-clear to go home on Christmas Eve came flooding back when I read this. I am very happy for you and your family.

Madcats · 21/12/2020 08:34

That is fantastic news OP! Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas, albeit a quiet one (though I suppose it won't be too quiet with little Delilah)! I bet you will all be so excited to be a reunited little family unit.

You've probably been running on adrenaline for the past 7 weeks. Make sure you stay as fit and well as you can.

You are the Mumsnet good news story for 2020!

nosswith · 21/12/2020 08:37

So pleased for you. That sounds like a worst nightmare come true - the hospital stuff and NICU. So it’s great you’ll be together. Look after yourself too.

Really happy for you.
The children of one of my best friends had heart transplants nearly a decade ago and not a day goes by that I'm not almost tearily grateful that they are now thriving.
Shout as loud as you like! Xxx
