Only just discovered Grace and Frankie ... love it

Whatthefunk · 20/12/2020 19:46

Good girls, on Netflix. Really binge worthy

NoZoomAtTheInn · 20/12/2020 19:47

Ghosts
Father Ted
Drop the Dead Donkey
White Gold

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 20/12/2020 19:47

This, if you're short of time.

Zoeys extraordinary play list. Be prepared to laugh and cry tons especially towards the end of the series! Absolutely beautiful series and seems to have flown under the radar (maybe cos the concept is a bit out there and light hearted so people don't realise how moving it is but seriously people should watch it!)

WhatdoImean · 20/12/2020 19:52

Amazed no-one has suggested "The Good Place" - Brilliant comedy, and (even better) actually has a proper ending

If you like hard science fiction (and some do) I recommend Altered Carbon on Netflix (though beware the flash-forwards/backwards confusion!) and The Expanse on Amazon. Both are sublime.

CoolCatTaco · 20/12/2020 20:12

I loved the first series of The Good Place but lost interest after that. Enjoyed Good Girls as well, it's good fun. Sneaky Pete is good craic as well, especially the first series.

LemonDrizzles · 20/12/2020 21:39

Jessica Jones

Aahotep · 20/12/2020 22:03

The Good Wife.
It's absolutely fantastic.
Also The Sopranos. Old but gold

GrouchyKiwi · 20/12/2020 22:08

Friday Night Lights. Don't let the football theme put you off, it's really beautiful, insightful, amazing television.

The West Wing.

Parks and Recreation. Lesley Knope is my favourite TV character.

The Night Shift. Decent medical drama.

GnomeDePlume · 20/12/2020 22:20

Waking The Dead - BBC iPlayer
Foyles War

1990s · 20/12/2020 22:23

Agreeing with Ghosts! Just getting into Outlander...

GLOW
Suburra: Blood on Rome

Bearsbearsbears40 · 20/12/2020 22:27

As a pp says, Curb Your Enthusiasm. Also, I’m thinking I’m of rewatching all of The Split (with Nicola Walker) this Christmas holiday - mostly for the outfits...

ineedaholidaynow · 20/12/2020 22:27

There is a Ghosts Christmas special

FarTooSkinny · 20/12/2020 22:28

Not a TV series but a film. The Road is a laugh a minute, and will give you a good idea of life in post Brexit Britain

Benjispruce2 · 21/12/2020 13:15

Watched Borat last night. I know I’m way behind but was funny and worrying at the same time.

FuzzyPuffling · 21/12/2020 13:16

Ghosts
The Goes Wrong Show

(Both BBC1)

SillyUnMurphy · 21/12/2020 13:22

Where can I watch Friday Night Lights please?

My TV recs:
Bloodline (Florida Keys scenery porn)
Schitt’s Creek
Gangs of London
Unbelievable

FindHungrySamurai · 21/12/2020 13:22

Staged - the Netflix version is slightly longer than the iPlayer version, iPlayer version more tightly focussed on the big name stars, Tennant, Sheen, SPOILER and SPOILER. Netflix adds more background to director and his sister.

SillyUnMurphy · 21/12/2020 13:23

Oh I forgot; ‘What we do in the Shadows’ BBC iPlayer

Mominatrix · 21/12/2020 13:26

The Mandalorean - I was a sceptic, but it really is good
The Queens Gambit - as good as the hype
Red Oaks -msaw it years ago, it it still is on `Amazon and really worth watching
Mrs Maisel
Friday Night Lights - saw this rec above and wholeheartedly agree. Not freely available on prime anymore
Pose
The Good Fight - liked it better than the Good Wife

GrouchyKiwi · 21/12/2020 14:01

@SillyUnMurphy I'm not sure, I'm afraid. It is sometimes on Netflix, sometimes free on Prime. The DVD boxset isn't a crazy price to buy, though.

Thanks. I know it was on Netflix a while ago but we didn’t watch it and I’ve not seen it on there since. We’ve also got Prime, so I’ll keep an eye out.
