Just that.
This morning we were watching Andrew Marr and he said that he could easily see society breaking down to a point where people are killed for being C19 positive.
He is normally a calm rational person, but 10 minutes ago we had a discussion about what he thought COULD happen.
In his mind, Boris Johnson will be overthrown and a new unelected government will set up extermination camps.
His point was culling during foot and mouth and bird flu was effective.

Ive got covid, its shit but im doing ok. When i went to get tested it had such a dystopian feel, almost like you would be told to drive one way for negative, the other for positive........Shock

Laiste · 20/12/2020 16:17

I've long thought that if this virus produced sores and boils a la 'Black Plague' then things would have been quite different and there would have been true public panic right from the start.

Public unrest resulting in murder over covid?
Nah Grin

@JesusInTheCabbageVan

Well, whatever helps him get into the Christmas spirit, I guess.
😂😂😂 brilliant @JesusInTheCabbageVan

He sounds like an absolute idiot

Nunoftheother · 20/12/2020 20:53

I thought this was going to be something to do with Barnard Castle.

Nohomemadecandles · 20/12/2020 20:57

@Canwecancel2020 me too. I don't cope well with dystopia!

Alonelonelyloner · 21/12/2020 06:48

Well here we have one OP who doesn't need to worry about her DH's porn addiction. They both more important stuff to worry about.

In all seriousness though, Britons (pretty famously) don't rise up. We complain a lot, drink more tea and then carry on. This is like an extra long version of the prison season of Walking Dead but WITHOUT the Dead or bad guys. Imagine that?!

LynetteScavo · 21/12/2020 06:53

Your DH should write a a TV drama based on this. I see it as great Sunday evening viewing.

nosswith · 21/12/2020 07:05

A bit more imaginative than some of the conspiracy theories there are, I will give your DH that. Yes as a tv drama it would work well, though who would want to play the worst Prime Minister in history or some of his cabinet (actor for Matt Hancock???) is a bit more difficult.

Dozer · 21/12/2020 07:11

Read his novel set around a fictional Brexit vote: far fetched, full of stereotypes, unpleasant and melodramatic.

rc22 · 21/12/2020 07:22

That's horrific and disturbing but has he thought of writing books or screenplays!!

10pennychews · 21/12/2020 07:45

I don't really think this would have wings i the UK as our Covid outbreak is too out of control already, the death rate is 2%ish not 100% and the people you would be killing in a lot of cases will be the young fit people who hold the guns!

Oh and vaccine

Fairyliz · 21/12/2020 07:53

DD and I often do this. We will go for a long walk and devise a zombie apocalypse/dystopian movie between us.

Funnily enough it cheers us up and we usually end up laughing, strange but harmless Grin

FortunesFave · 21/12/2020 07:59

Someone I know has fled the UK and has told me there are going to be riots and an overthrown government soon. I told him that people can't be arsed rioting. They're all watching reality TV.

lovemelongtime · 21/12/2020 08:01

He's probably been reading the Daily Mail!
