"It's a viscous circle"

Really? It's a circle with a thick, sticky consistency?

It's a vicious cycle, for fuck's sake.

Yes, I'm an unbearable pendant. I don't actually think it's that unreasonable.

OP posts:

Globule!!!!! 🤢

Arewenearly · 18/12/2020 23:43

@Lalliella

Yeah *@pigsDOfly* is right, it’s a vicious circle not a vicious cycle. Hoist by your own pet toad OP.

Pendants unite in you're viscious circle, we won't loose you of we stand together. We could of ignored this but we must unite or we'll loose this.

Might want to name change after this one, OP. You could probably do with some restbite Wink

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 19/12/2020 02:31

To be fare you can get a viscous circle, I sometimes get one when I put a bottle of cooking oil on the Kitchener Worksop.

NiceGerbil · 19/12/2020 02:34
  1. Isn't there a pedants corner for this
  2. Maybe they mean an oily circle and you're not following the conversation
  1. I need to get a life. Maybe you do too. Tricky during covid though...
NiceGerbil · 19/12/2020 02:37

Oh. Ha.

OP spelt vicious wrong.

Tasty 🤣🤣🤣

MerchantOfVenom · 19/12/2020 02:38

Muphry’s Law is strong in this thread.

GreenWheat · 19/12/2020 02:40

Oh ho, ho, ho, 'tis the law of MN that a pedant should trip up on their own post! I do sympathise though - I have a necklace that is getting unbearable too. The chain is too short and it rubs on my jumpers. Nightmare.

tobee · 19/12/2020 02:49

I don't think arse hatch pyjamas and viscous circles should be mentioned in the same thread. Envy

SOmuchsparkle · 19/12/2020 02:54

Can someone post a link to the arse hatch onesie please so we can see what on earth you are on about????

Gremlinsateit · 19/12/2020 03:52

Surely you mean hoards of boarders Greenland :)

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 19/12/2020 06:41

@SOmuchsparkle

I can't find the original thread but the I the link is buried somewhere in this one;

TheSilentStars · 19/12/2020 06:47

@oakleaffy

Well, on an earlier thread about a Wasp, someone had their post pulled as they got into a bate about ''Could of''

They shouted '' Could have, have ,have !

I replied '' You could of made that clearer '' and we both had posts deleted.

Clearly even joking about grammar is clearly a MN offence.

I think it depends on what kind of English tutor one had..If they were strict on the basics of grammar or not.

You know exactly why the thread was pulled and it was because all of you staged a pile-in on the OP.

Joking about grammar is one thing.

Post after post from people like you taking the piss out of an OP (allergic to wasp stings, for those who weren't on the thread) for making a grammar error is another.

TheSilentStars · 19/12/2020 06:49

@GreenlandTheMovie

Its the land boarders that are really getting to me. All sorts of boarders are in the news currently, that means there are hordes of boarders being talked about...
Your posts were deleted as well for mocking people's English, weren't they?
Weirdwonders · 19/12/2020 07:44

Jesus, I can't fucking stand a pedant. You knew what it meant so what is the issue?! I often wonder what drives someone to be so bothered about shit like this. Yabu.

Because I hate having to work out what it is they mean and then pretend to feign understanding. If you’re going to refuse to read a sentence in your life then at least get comfortable with being corrected. I don’t owe anyone my time or tolerance.

Gurufloof · 19/12/2020 08:08

Intrigued by the boak sounding back flap endowed onesie? A link from anyone or a clue where to look.
Pedants will pedant, the world does not end and frankly you can buy really cheap stuff from the likes of Ebay or Facebook selling places because people cannot spell chest of drawers and similar items.

Wow what a lovely attitude. Hope it serves you well.
Chailatte20 · 19/12/2020 08:36

Dint instead of didn't is another one that's becoming popular, I just saw it on another thread.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 19/12/2020 08:52

'Because I hate having to work out what it is they mean and then pretend to feign understanding'

We all know what people mean though, context is of far more importance. So pedants, if you struggle then read the sentence as a whole to understand! My spag is shite. So much just doesn't actually matter though imo. Practice/practise stationery/stationery, so fucking what. I understand commas alter the meaning of a sentence. I accept commas Grin

GetOffYourHighHorse · 19/12/2020 08:53

Stationary* 🙄

Intrigued by the boak sounding back flap endowed onesie

I'm not getting the ad now, but it was a smorgasbord of Christmassy ones like this (I have added a male version for fairness)

MaelyssQ · 19/12/2020 09:54

Those onesies are horrific!

And referring to oneself as a 'pendant' is an in-joke for pedantic people.
