Oh I can’t wait to pick DD up from school today and not have to make her pack up and get school uniforms ready and the countless other “schooley” things for two whole weeks!
I can’t wait to not have to drag her out of bed tomorrow morning by her ankles or send in my hound to give her a good morning spit wash at 7am!
But most of all I’m looking forward to not having to go to work for 2 weeks! I’ve never had a Christmas off work!
What are you looking forward to doing or not doing during the Christmas holiday?

Last school day here is the 22nd.

LegallyBlondeee · 17/12/2020 07:09

@speakout oh gosh! All schools here are closing today! The 22nd sounds incredibly late to start the holidays! What date do they go back?

DS finished last Friday and DD is on day 9 of isolation, I don't know anyone with kids still in school.

HazeyJaneII · 17/12/2020 07:14

Last school day here is tomorrow, and one of mine is home anyway... but I'll join you!

Looking forward to not having to sort lunches, make sure there is clean uniform, pe kit, random item required for school that day, dd1's morning anxiety toilet runs (she throws up a lot from anxiety) and hair dramas.
Also looking forward to not having to set up 'school' in the kitchen, set timetable and work for the day, worry that we're not doing enough to tick all the boxes and get ds to actually work!

Roll on the holidays!!

speakout · 17/12/2020 07:15

Schools break here 22nd, back 6th Jan.

Yawningyawning · 17/12/2020 07:15

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 17/12/2020 07:17

Last day for us too! I don't do the school run but I'm sure DH will be thrilled 😁

Ours finish on Tuesday afternoon however 2 of them decided to finish tomorrow afternoon. I'm hoping the others decide to close early. I'm in Ireland. I am looking forward to no uniforms, lunches and just no clock watching.

Litthefirealready · 17/12/2020 07:19

Probably Ireland (at least assuming so as that's our national primary holidays). Shorter school day and longer summer holidays so while the 22nd is late, I'll suck it up!

SionnachRua · 17/12/2020 07:25

Forgot to say happy Christmas to you, the children and your children's teachers Grin No doubt they're delighted about no school routine too!

Igmum · 17/12/2020 07:26

Last day for us tomorrow and it's a half day so just made the last packed lunch for a while. Wooo-eeee

marthastew · 17/12/2020 07:27

It's today for us too! Whoop whoop!

PolarnOPirate · 17/12/2020 07:28

Tomorrow at 1pm for us! (Then again at 5 for the nursery run hah)

SunniCameHomeWithAVengeance · 17/12/2020 07:28

I'm in Ireland too and mine don't finish until the 22nd. I work in retail though so get to look forward to being screamed at and threatened right up until Christmas Eve. People are particularly aggressive this year I've found.

Isadora2007 · 17/12/2020 07:29

22nd here in Scotland. Dunno when we are back.

CeibaTree · 17/12/2020 07:30

Today for us too, I am so looking forward to a little bit of a lie-in tomorrow 🎉

ibblebibbledibble · 17/12/2020 07:30

Last day here too! And my last work day for two weeks. So I’ll join you in celebrating 🥳

BetsyBigNose · 17/12/2020 07:31

The High School finishes at 1pm tomorrow, I can't wait to have our DDs home for 2 weeks - I'm almost as excited at the prospect of not having to make packed lunches until 4th Jan!

pippitysqueakity · 17/12/2020 07:36

22nd break up here, and back on 5th.

namechange202086 · 17/12/2020 07:36

22nd here and back on the 6th Jan.

LegallyBlondeee · 17/12/2020 07:39

Oh i do feel for you! One of the reasons I’ve never had Christmas off is because I was in a senior role in retail pre pandemic. Then a sudden change of career ment I’ve worked all the way through the lockdowns ( which I’m appreciative of ) but I do feel for my fellow retail buddies this year it must me incredibly difficult.
