Shout Out to All Outside the UK! What do you think of Brexit?

Ideally outside of the EU as well as it's the global opinion I was really after.
The government and printed press here portray us as a world leader and that Brexit has enhanced our reputation and the rest of the world can't wait for the exciting opportunities for partnerships and increased trade with the UK. I'm not so sure that's what the rest of the world thinks so thought I'd do a very unscientific straw poll.

Yabu - The rest of the world thinks Brexit is a bad idea, it has diminished our reputation and is portrayed this way in the press.
Yanbu - The rest of the world thinks Brexit is a great idea, it has improved our international reputation and is portrayed this way in the press.

Thanks!

The worst part is being pitied by an Ethopian though.
I had lunch with a Venezuelan family last year (2019) in France (friends of friends). They had left Venezuelan because of the problems there. Even they said to me WTF is going on in your country? They said they expect shit like this in countries like their's, but would never expect it in a place like the UK. I felt embarrassed about the mess we had freely chosen to vote ourselves into, and were absolutely determinedly push on with, in front of a Venezuelan.
@Blibbyblobby agree with you the fucking Olympics has a lot to answer for! Before 2012 we were a lot more accepting of the fact that we're a has-been nation slowly slipping into international obscurity.
I don’t see it has “has been” or “obscurity”, so much as a mature old age.

Instead we had a mid life crisis, read too much social media and got convinced that our steady long term partner doesn’t do anything at all and if we just get rid and are independent again all the sexy younger economies will want to jump into bed with us. Then we act all wounded when said partner doesn’t just accept our back-of-a-fag-packet ideas about divorce terms.

Of course, where the analogy breaks down is those sexy young economies probably do want to fuck us. But they will make us do things we aren’t comfortable with and they won’t respect us afterwards. Grin

@Blibbyblobby that is the best analogy for Brexit I have ever read. Well done.
