C'mon, its the food of the gods right? Yet my lovely friend hates it.

I had it for my tea tonight with fingers of tiger loaf. Have also previously been known to dunk sausages and even Brussels sprouts in its liquid gold.

Shes totally wrong isn't she.

@gnomeisland with gherkins you say! Oh my why have I never thought of that! Can't bloody wait to try that now!

Lightsontbut · 12/12/2020 23:13

Is it nice camembert or did you adulterate it by letting it get too ripe and filling it with garlic and rosemary before you cooked it? shudder

TaraR2020 · 12/12/2020 23:37

I'm not keen

A rip brie though...

TaraR2020 · 12/12/2020 23:37

*ripe!

PetertheWalrus · 13/12/2020 00:26

It's OK unbaked (not good, just OK). Baked it's fit only for the bin.

Craftycorvid · 13/12/2020 00:57

Having this very treat tomorrow for dinner. Grin

This.

I thought it was ok as I had had it cold so when everyone on here raved about baking it I got some and some nice bread put it in the oven the result was one and f the worst food experiences I’ve ever had the displeasure of participating in!

Never again!

BorisSortYourHairOutAndBrexit · 13/12/2020 01:04

I’ve never tried one Xmas Blush and I don’t think I’ve missed out judging by some of the comments on this thread. I think I’ll stick to my extra mature cheddar!

k1233 · 13/12/2020 02:10

I've got a great recipe. Split cambert. Fill with sun dried tomatoes, marinated egg plant, bit of basil. Heat until just starting to be really soft. Really yum!

DaughterOfEvilReindeer · 13/12/2020 03:18

Oh all you heathens who don't like a baked camembert, shed a tear for me because I do love it but I'm lactose intolerant and can't eat it

EnPoinsettia · 13/12/2020 07:22

You used the phrase “food of the gods”. Boak. YABU.

Soubriquet · 13/12/2020 07:29

KatherineJaneway · 13/12/2020 07:30

Very unreasonable.

Jubaju · 13/12/2020 07:32

Camembert can get in the bin 🤢

midnightstar66 · 13/12/2020 07:37

Ah a breaded one in particular is lovely, the standard type can also be but I once got one that tasted strongly of ammonia and it's put me off a bit

MindThatTree · 13/12/2020 07:39

Puff pastry, Camembert in middle, brush pastry with cranberry sauce and sprinkle smoky bacon bits. Cut and twist pastry all the way around the Camembert. Bake and use the pastry twists to dip.

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 13/12/2020 07:52

Just reading about people serving a whole baked cheese per person as a starter before Christmas Dinner is giving me clogged arteries.

A slice of beautiful Camembert in quality biscuits: lovely!

Infested with jam and god knows what and melted: bleugh!

QuietlyExcited · 13/12/2020 08:02

Love it but God it stinks out the fridge. I've bought three 6" ones to share over Christmas. They're in the garage.

ivfbabymomma1 · 13/12/2020 08:08

Ugh no, i can't bare the thought of eating something that smells so bad 🤮

LaLaLandIsNoFun · 13/12/2020 08:10

Why are you still friends with this woman, OP? Grin

spaceghetto · 13/12/2020 08:21

I once had an infected belly button after getting it pierced. It oozed disgusting gunk for weeks...

DebbieFiderer · 13/12/2020 09:17

I saw a recipe on Facebook I'm going to try on Christmas Eve - split the camembert in half then fill with caramelised onion and bacon (veggie bacon in my case), put the top back on, wrap in puff pastry and bake. I'm going to serve with roasted veg as I think bread will be too heavy.

PuckleP · 13/12/2020 09:18

Planning on baked camembert for my birthday lunch on the 21st, DP working and pretty sure I will be spending the day on my own. Cheese, cake and wine on the menu 🧀🎂🍾

Eleganz · 13/12/2020 09:20

There is always that roll of the dice that you could end up with a scrambled eggy one.
