White blonde hair - what age did it change?

I’m a bit gutted. My just turned 9 year old has white blonde hair ( so white it almost glows in photos) she’s always had lots of comments about how pretty the colour is but I’ve noticed lately that the roots are getting darker. I know it’s winter and hair tends to go darker but hers never has in the past. How old were your white blonde kids when it started to go dark and how long did it take to change. How dark did it go? Thanks.

Started about 5 or 6, still blonde but not that white blonde I was as a child. Got gradually darker as I got older, I call it the Luke Skywalker effect.

I'm not sure of age but DP was born with white blond hair and now has dark brown heading to black hair. He thinks 5-8. Photos show wildly different looking kids.
