Just had a delivery from a well known online supermarket ( sadly it wasn’t Jesus in the cabbage van)
After a bit of socially distanced chat about substitutions and Xmas deliveries We had this convo
Driver - you know you can give your driver feedback
Me - yes I do, I get an email about it and I usually respond
Driver - but if you email in unprompted it’s better
Me - I didnt know I could do that
Driver -yes, if you email in to say I was really good I might win some vouchers
Me - ok
Driver - so please could you do that?
Me - ok

I’m not “fumming” or anything, I think I’m actually quite amused and may well do it since he’s asked but is he a bit of a CF or not?
YABU - completely fair to try
YANBU - Cheeky Fucker

God loves a trier and thanks for the info. I might do it too our delivery drivers are fab.

Wannakisstheteacher · 10/12/2020 18:31

Yes! I love this. He's clearly motivated and willing to push himself forward a bit. I bet most of the other drivers would love to ask but don't quite have it in them.

livefornaps · 10/12/2020 18:33

How about instead of writing a post in the internet about a guy who's trying his best in difficult times, you just get on and write the bloody email instead

timeforachange33 · 10/12/2020 18:41

A lot of delivery drivers have had to take on these job because of Covid, they are paid a lot less than they are used to so he might really need the vouchers to help with Christmas. Even if he doesn't it's a nice thing to do, most people wouldn't hesitate if they'd received bad service so it really should work the other way round.

LEELULUMPKIN · 10/12/2020 18:42

I get this all the time on the checkout at M&S. I am happy to do it.

Bluntness100 · 10/12/2020 18:43

I’d definitely do this if someone asked..

Hoppinggreen · 10/12/2020 18:46

livefornaps I am perfectly capable of doing both but thank you for the suggestion
I think maybe you DO need a nap, you sound a little cross

SchadenfreudePersonified · 10/12/2020 18:58

*notable, not noble

BloggersBlog · 10/12/2020 18:59

Ah good for him! Doubt there is much cheer to be had in his job, so am glad you are going to email for him

shiningstar2 · 10/12/2020 19:01

why not? He's providing a great, really needed service in a poorly paid job. Go for it op. He was really friendly and you got your delivery. Give him a great review. Smile

DarlingCoffee · 10/12/2020 19:02

Ah OP send the email, and consider it a Christmas good deed

Hoppinggreen · 10/12/2020 19:07

It’s done
I said Friendly, efficient and professional
But needs a quick lesson in what unprompted means (not really)

Did he make a point of showing you his name badge- I've had them do that - so you can accurately describe him and his fantastic service. lol.

Winterwoollies · 10/12/2020 19:12

Bless him. Maybe the vouchers would help him out.

HoofHeartedSanta · 10/12/2020 19:13

If he was my regular driver I’d support him with a wee festive missive.

RozHuntleysStump · 10/12/2020 19:14

Hope he wins his vouchers.

Scbchl · 10/12/2020 19:16

Dont find anything about it cf at all.

BashfulClam · 10/12/2020 19:22

All the drivers I’ve ever had from any supermarket have been lovely, particularly Sainsbury’s. Now I know this I’ll take time to do it. He could have kids and partner on furlough or redundant so those vouchers are the difference to a good Christmas. I’d think he was cheeky but I’d like it . During lockdown my DH took a temp role dealing with supermarket delivery customers. You would not believe the shite that gets complained about. One woman was hysterical because after delivering her shopping and on the way back to his van the driver patted her neighbours dog. It was after he’d touched anything going into her house but she was fizzing. Another complained because the driver asked if she had a tissue he could take as he had hay fever and his eyes were a bit watery.,,,

butterpuffed · 10/12/2020 19:45

@EveryDayIsADuvetDay

I do give reviews quite often - but there is nothing more that I hate than to have someone try to pressure me into giving one - at best I deliberately won't, or if I do, knock a star off for being hassled.
Never mind , I don't think they'd dare ask you Grin
SBTLove · 10/12/2020 21:27

It’s harder for Amazon drivers, if you give them the slightest negative review they lose a days work & are out of the running for their £50 monthly bonus 😕😕

Biancadelrioisback · 10/12/2020 21:51

Yabu

WinterWhore · 10/12/2020 22:05

Oh bless him, he wants recognition and those vouchers! He sounds sweet, I hope you do it OP.

WinterWhore · 10/12/2020 22:07

Oh you did do it. Sorry op!
