To drown out snoring and listen to books while I drift off, but comfortable enough to sleep in? Do they exist?

If your partner snores they should be doing something about it.

NotBabiesForLong · 05/12/2020 23:44

I do just that. Listening to desert Island discs. I nod off and wake up several episodes later.

I have some Sony WiFi headphones. They work well. Cheap as chips on amazon.

MrsMiaWallis · 05/12/2020 23:44

Yep, they should.

But in the meantime? They'd be good even when he's away.

I have a eye mask with built in headphones.

BornInAThunderstorm · 05/12/2020 23:46

You can get hairbands with speakers

MrsMiaWallis · 05/12/2020 23:47

Earbuds should work. I side sleep and use mine in bed sometimes. Mine are just a cheapish set from Amazon, around £20.

Pangur2 · 05/12/2020 23:50

The headband/ eye masks with built in earphones are really good.

PigletJohn · 06/12/2020 00:16

You can get pillow speakers.

NekoShiro · 06/12/2020 00:53

I was gonna say about pillow speakers, you sleep with them under the pillow and can only hear them when your heads against the pillow.

How is her husband supposed to stop snoring? I snore in my sleep and my partner just nudges me over onto my side instead of my back Blush

Zlistceleb · 06/12/2020 01:54

Bose do them but they're expensive. I think they're approx £225.

PirateCatQueen · 06/12/2020 01:59

Try searching sleep phones

violetbunny · 06/12/2020 02:15

Bose Sleep Buds...

sobsanta · 06/12/2020 02:17

I have a headband one for sleep casts and audiobooks that work well for £15 on Amazon.

HarryHarryHarry · 06/12/2020 02:36

I’ve got Sleep Phones, they’re great

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 06/12/2020 02:47

Sound Pillow link £18

namechangedforthecraic · 06/12/2020 02:52

I've used a pillow speaker for a long time but now my new phone has no socket for earphones so I'm stuck.

justilou1 · 06/12/2020 03:06

Another one for the headband with speakers. Also brilliant for chilly dog walks.

theseriousmoonlight · 06/12/2020 03:08

I use ear buds. Not expensive ones, I think I got them from Amazon for around £30. I only use one at a time though as I side sleep.

I used to just use a cheap pair of wired headphones (again, just one side in at a time) but my new phone doesn't have a headphone jack so I had to go wireless. I'm glad I did though as buds are much better for sleeping jn.

Cheesewine · 06/12/2020 03:10

@namechangedforthecraic have you tried the adaptor that goes into the charging port on your phone and turns it into a headphone jack? Very cheap.

MountainDweller · 06/12/2020 03:13

JBL make good earbuds for sleeping. No noise cancelling but they shut out a lot. They are flat on the back of the earbuds so they don't dig in when you lie on your side. I have small ears and they fit me (lots dont). Basic wired ones are 9.99, wireless ones in the same style maybe 20-30? Thee are more expensive ones but they don't actually fit my ears so well.

namechangedforthecraic · 06/12/2020 03:17

@Cheesewine thank you for that! I never knew such magic existed! Will invest. Though it's still a pain having to choose between charging and listening to a podcast!

sobsanta · 06/12/2020 03:21

You can buy splitters with both a headphone adaptor side and a charging side. Or the headband ones are Bluetooth connected so no wires at all.
