Peppa Pig

AIBU to think that she’s a bit of a dick? I’ve only seen a few episodes (by accident) and I’ve seen her being really rude to Daddy Pig for no reason and to that sheep she hangs out with. She’s pretty selfish and a bit of whinge bag.

Is it just me? I really hope she is long gone by the time DS wants to watch tv as she will be banned in this house, she does my head in!

It's a kids show ffs stop obsessing over it.

TrufflyPig · 05/12/2020 13:02

Hey Duggee is much better!

Sexnotgender · 05/12/2020 13:04

YANBU, I’ve got a toddler and don’t let him watch it. It’s absolute crap.

Cutekittens · 05/12/2020 13:04

We watched postman pat and he is a right pillock
postman pat complaint letter

DS loves duggee!

And the wiggles.

Cutekittens · 05/12/2020 13:10

@Sexnotgender
Isn’t it squirrels 🐿???

Cutekittens · 05/12/2020 13:11

And don’t even get me started on “Something Special - We’re all friends”

Mr tumble… tut 😂

UnconsideredTrifles · 05/12/2020 13:12

Peppa and Bing are both significantly less whiny in Welsh, so I've banned them in English. DC don't seem to mind what language it's in - I once caught them watching cheerfully in Gaelic - but it makes me happier!

Postman Pat is secretly Tom Pottage's real father.

VestaTilley · 05/12/2020 13:13

YANBU- we’ve never watched it as my DF watched it a few times with DNephew and said it was awful so banned it.

Remember, you can control - to a large extent - what your children watch by not having the TV on all the time or choosing specific programmes on iplayer and YouTube (be careful of the latter because of adverts), but don’t feel you have to let your DC watch things if you don’t like it.

With Netflix etc there’s a lot of choice, so peer pressure at school to all watch the same thing for cultural references etc will hopefully wane.

Agree, Peppa Pinc is allowed 😂

Umm, I’m just messing about, It’s a jokey thread, you really don’t need to take it so seriously!

Unfortunately my heathen children refused to learn Welsh (ok, I was lazy Blush), though the eldest is also happy to watch it in Gaelic.
stressfullday · 05/12/2020 13:43

Yeah I hate peppa pig. Rude obnoxious little pig. Should be made into bacon butties !!

Oooohbehave · 05/12/2020 14:34

YANBU. My DD has a 'friend' who is the human version of Peppa pig. A sly little snitch with no manners. Oink.

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 05/12/2020 14:38

DD is nearly 3, so far we have managed to avoid it all together. Not Bing, she watches thay, but I'd take that whiny rabbit any day over Peppa.

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 05/12/2020 14:38

That, not thay.

AddisonM · 05/12/2020 14:39

Duggee is so underrated.

I think my favourite is Ben and Holly though. I’d just watch that on my own n

TheKeatingFive · 05/12/2020 14:49

I love it. And be warned, from a parental viewing POV it’s much better than what comes after it. Paw patrol, shoot me now.

And I’ve always thought that if Peppa was a boy, no one would be complaining about her behaviour.

RonObvious · 05/12/2020 14:54

Anything’s better than Caillou.

ShirleyPhallus · 05/12/2020 14:57

I think I like her more than DD does. But she is a right brat sometimes.

Laiste · 05/12/2020 15:07

Ben and Holly. I've said it before on here but the sexual tension between Wise Old Elf and Nanny Plum is palpable Grin

Bing - wingey little bastard.

Pepper - meh.

AddisonM · 05/12/2020 15:53

Yes Laiste!! Grin also Mr Elf has a thing for Nanny - did you ever see the one he’s going somewhere to “keep an eye on Nanny Plum” (I can’t remember where they’re going) and Mrs Elf decides she’ll go to keep an eye on Mr Elf?

Letsleepingdogslie8 · 05/12/2020 16:16

Yep she’s rude. DC watch it in Chinese and apparently she’s not so obnoxious in that.

june2007 · 05/12/2020 16:17

Do like the whisteling one where she puts the phone down on her friend. (more examples of rudeness though.)

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 05/12/2020 16:21

Daddy Pig is portrayed as an idiot and incompetent. I really object to this. It's no better than mums being portrayed that way.
