Hiding money?

What reason would a person transfer money into someone elses bank account from Paypal and then withdraw from there?

Automated service at the bank to report the card lost .. I took bank statements and other findings to the bank and handed them in and filled in a form for the fraud department.

From what you've said I'd say he's getting himself in insane debt. PayPal do credit. So he can pay your daughter now and withdraw that money. But he owes that money to paypal.
Your daughter is being very silly being a part of this and she's old enough to know better. You shouldn't hide her card. She should ask for it back.

I'm getting her to ask for it back now.

I've discussed with her that she shouldn't be reponsible for his troubles, and that she needs to understand, now that she's 16, that she has rights but needs to be grown up to think about what she consents to. I've reluctantly had to explain to her the financial situation between me and him.

Can I just call the bank and cancel it, won't they just ask to speak to her?

It's putting her in a very awkward position with her dad. I mean, what's she going to say when he asks for it again?

Just say she lost it...

She can tell him mum's got my card - ask her.

Bessica1970 · 12/12/2020 12:29

He could be selling stuff (because he’s broke) but can’t transfer it to his current account because his overdraft would swallow it up. I think you’re making too big a thing out of this. Why not just ask him?

cheesecadet · 12/12/2020 15:49

Thanks for the replies.

@Bessica1970 see, this is what I'm wondering but I don't trust him. If I asked him I wouldn't trust his reply. Because he's dodgy anyway. I do want people to suggest that this is innocent.

We've got it back. She says that she trusts him. Still don't know what to do. I'm listening to the comments regarding the potential innocence of it, and also the comments saying to get her to tell him that it's lost but she doesn't agree with this.
