Here it is.
Thanks @BruceandNosh for the title.

And still we persist.

I loved seeing Margaret, 90 years old, my goodness she didn't look it, having the first Pfizer vaccine today with her Christmas T shirt on. I said to my DCs... imagine if that was your Granny with her pic beamed across the world!
(She only retired 4 years ago apparently!)

CaveMum · 08/12/2020 17:35

If you haven’t seen this CNN interview about today’s vaccinations with The Most British Man Ever, you need to watch it! How is it that American interviewers can always seek them out?!

Also bonus points if you spot “random man carrying a door” 😂😂

Loved it!
And spotted door man!
So British!
(Wish I could just ring up and get it Grin)

p.s. Hope CaveBaby is looking forward to Christmas!

@maggiethecat

So are we at safe harbour or is that end of today?
I'm not sure if it's midnight or the end of DC's 'business day' which would (I assume) be around 6pm local time.
DuncinToffee · 08/12/2020 18:08

That's so funny Grin and I spotted door man too

borntobequiet · 08/12/2020 18:09

Opponents of the ACA and any forms of “socialised medicine” might like to reflect on the fact that despite legitimate grievances over the UK’s handling of the epidemic, citizens are receiving the vaccination before any other country - and free.
Even amidst the madness that is Brexit, we can still do a few things right (hope it works...).

www.cnbc.com/2020/12/08/texas-sues-four-battleground-states-in-supreme-court-over-unlawful-election-results.html

Ok, so the TEXAS AG has filed a lawsuit directly with SCOTUS (bypassing lower courts) because he doesn't like the election results in PA, GA, WI, & MI and wants them invalidated and thrown out. The four states' entire election results are 'unconstitutional'. That's right, one state is basically suing 4 other states in the Supreme Court because they voted for Biden. All I can say is 'That's Texas for you'. Legal pundits are rolling their eyeballs and saying "Doesn't stand a chance".

Of course as a Californian I have a long standing disdain for (most of ) Texas, a disdain which is returned in equal measure by (most) Texans.

Yes, he and big sister are very excited - threats of going on the naughty list are being deployed several times a day 🙈

Yy, one of the soundbites repeatedly tossed out by people trying to prevent the US getting universal healthcare was, "One thing we know for sure: when new medicines are needed, it's the US health system that will produce them."

Annoyed me at the time. So verifiably false given the UK's highly successful pharmaceutical research industry.

And now? Hahahaha!

First approved vaccine Pfizer from Germany.

Second approved vaccine looking very likely to be the AstraZeneca one from Oxford (more good news on development just a few minutes ago).

S'all right. We'll let you have some. We're not mean.Grin

CaveMum · 08/12/2020 19:54

One comment on that CNN Twitter video that I loved was something like “Damned socialised medicine: prioritising the old and infirm over those with money!”

Oh thanks for this link! He's straight from the Alec Guinness school of central casting. All we needed was a chimney sweep going past as well. Grin

Texas AG suing 4 states to overturn their results in SCOTUS ?

Seems 4 states own AGs are not impressed ?

Yeah, that's where I was reading it Grin

I like to triangulate news sources - especially when it comes to analysis.

Seems this is some sort of grandstanding ? (As is the Ted Cruz story ?)

lionheart · 08/12/2020 22:01

Every time a ludicrous move gets thrown out by the courts it just confirms the deep state conspiracy nonsense.

AcrossthePond55 · 08/12/2020 22:12

Per CNN

SCOTUS refuses PA GOP request to block certification of election results.

One line decision with no noted dissent.

Breaking story

maggiethecat · 08/12/2020 22:16

Yesss!!!!!!
Just saw that AcrossThePond55

He’s gonna start ranting against the SCOTUS Justices now. ACB should be shaking in her boots 😱

titchy · 08/12/2020 22:18

6 Republican judges and no dissent Grin

Nice.

AcrossthePond55 · 08/12/2020 22:22

Thanks for posting the CNN article maggie. I was on my phone and just got a 'flash' on the screen.

AcrossthePond55 · 08/12/2020 22:26

Nice.

I'm waiting for Scrotus' tweet "Isn't it sad when you realize that your friends don't really have your back?" so I can tweet back "U OK, Hun?".
BruceAndNosh · 08/12/2020 22:28

Of course the Trumpers are claiming that SCOTUS denied the Kelly Pennsylvania case as they wanted to get to the Texas case 'which is bigger'
The fact that the Texas case has appeared on SCOTUS docket doesn't mean squat
