thanks for all the links, everyone.

It's patently obvious that Scrotus is doing everything and anything he can to hamstring Joe and Kamala and to cause as much disruption, death, and destruction as possible. Not just to the US but to every country the US is present in or has a relationship with. Unless of course it's a country he feels he can profit from or has business interests in.

Common wisdom has it that there is nothing that can be done to curb his 'orders'. The only 'strategy' is for the agencies involved to 'forget' to start or to slow down the processes involved. I believe a couple of agencies are starting to do this quietly. Lower level staff putting things on the 'bottom of the pile' or 'not being able to find' supplies needed to carry things out. I've seen it happen numerous times in my career. It doesn't always make a huge impact, but every delay helps.

I think one good things is that Kamala, as a member of the Intel Cmte, is entitled to some of the security briefing info plus the fact that I can't help but believe that Joe still has contacts in the Pentagon, some of whom may be willing to help if they can.

I know he can't but I wish Joe would just say he'll give give a 'blanket preemptive pardon' and/or if you get sacked, he'll get you your job back) to anyone who violates standards to help bring him up to speed.

We still have 46 days to go. And no one in the GOP who has the balls or ovaries to do the right thing.

This is tragic. And disturbing.

A young staffer of Sen Kelly Loeffler (Georgia) was killed in a car accident yesterday, which is why she has cancelled some appearances today.

Apparently the young man was the son of a local politician and also a friend of the Governor Kemp. Some reports state he was the boyfriend of Kemps daughter.

So far, so sad.

But far right is claiming that he was murdered by Deep state or someone connected with Biden
Absolutely fucking bonkers

Trump’s Final Days of Rage and Denial.
www.nytimes.com/2020/12/05/us/politics/trump-presidency-election-loss.html

Over the past week, President Trump posted or reposted more than 130 messages on Twitter lashing out at the results of an election he lost. He mentioned the coronavirus pandemic now reaching its darkest hours four times — and even then just to assert that he was right about the outbreak and the experts were wrong.

Moody and by accounts of his advisers sometimes depressed, the president barely shows up to work, ignoring the health and economic crises afflicting the nation and largely clearing his public schedule of meetings unrelated to his desperate bid to rewrite the election results. He has fixated on rewarding friends, purging the disloyal and punishing a growing list of perceived enemies that now includes Republican governors, his own attorney general and even Fox News.

The final days of the Trump presidency have taken on the stormy elements of a drama more common to history or literature than a modern White House. His rage and detached-from-reality refusal to concede defeat evoke images of a besieged overlord in some distant dictatorship defiantly clinging to power rather than going into exile or an erratic English monarch imposing his version of reality on his cowed court.

And while he will leave office in 46 days, the last few weeks may only foreshadow what he will be like after he departs. Mr. Trump will almost certainly try to shape the national conversation from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida and his relentless campaign to discredit the election could undercut his successor, President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. Although many Republicans would like to move on, he appears intent on forcing them to remain in thrall to his need for vindication and vilification even after his term expires.
Continues.

Random thought. I was speculating on which writer could adequately describe The Last Days of Trump in all their horror, and came up with Evelyn Waugh (sadly long deceased).

Trump apparently called Gov. Kemp earlier today, pushing him to convince state legislators to overturn Biden's win in the state

None of it's surprising though, is it? I think it's just that although we knew this insanity would most likely happen, the reality of it is getting our noses rubbed in it.

Like this:

I know he's going to GA today, but I have no idea when or where he's supposedly speaking. I know he's supposed to be encouraging his cult members to vote (despite the latest conspiracy theories he, himself, is spreading) but I doubt he'll be able to stay on topic for 1 minute before veering into a 'massive fraud, I won BY A LOT!' rant. Goody, I say.

I'm thinking that another equivalent scenario in history is when Henry VIII's courtiers and advisers didn't dare tell him that he was dying because that was treason in his eyes.

I bet Trump would love to be able to say, 'Off with his/her head.'

I'm sure he is saying it, privately. But publicly he's using words like 'treason' and (quietly) encouraging his cult members to demand the death penalty. I think so far we've had 'line them up against the wall' and 'hang them' from various sycophants.
Mittens030869 · 05/12/2020 21:28

True, and they're talking about bringing back the electric chair, which was a barbaric form of execution. And there have been so many federal executions. Thankfully, Biden has said that he will discontinue all this barbarism.

I'll go with Stalin.

Or Hitler in the bunker. Trump's encouragement of racial hatred is very reminiscent of him. Plus the bunker mentality.

I suspect he's going to find a lucrative line post-presidency in getting money out of his supporters to support some campaign or other for 'Justice for Trump' (small print: '75% of this money will go to keeping Donnie in golden plated toilets) and laugh all the way to the bank at how he can say anything and his fans will pay up.

Just been watching the Georgia rally.Trump actually said “ I have legislators in my pocket”, and then pulled a list of names out.
Everyone really does reveal themselves.
