Is anyone avoiding going places they don’t need to go before Xmas incase of having to isolate over Xmas?

Even fun stuff?

This is how we've lived our lives since September and schools returned.

One child sent back to self isolate most weeks now as schools awash with cases. We wfh, see nobody and go nowhere to give DCS a fighting chance as in Gcse years but pointless as they have been sent back to self isolate 4 times now since Sept.

Oh and there are no places to keep going in Tier 3 anyway. Can't even do click and collect for food/items as we are in self isolation again and can't step out the front door legally.

Nope, I've managed not to catch covid so far (touch wood) after 11 months of working in a hospital, including a couple of months redeployment on a covid ward. I wear PPE at work, and don't get within 2m of anyone outside of work, so chances of me being contacted by track and trace are very slim. Have to test myself twice a week so potential for having to isolate if I come back as asymptomatic and positive.

Saying that, I live in tier 3, so there's nothing fun open round here anyway. Lots of walks and fresh air for the foreseeable! If pubs and restaurants were open then I'd be straight back in.

No, we're in Tier 2 (London) and we're filling our calendar with as many activities we can find. We visited as many outdoor venues that we could find were open during lockdown, and now museums, soft play and theatres are opening again we've booked ahead for a different venue for every weekend, plus the Christmas holiday period. We have a couple of Santa visits planned too. It's part of our Christmas traditions and we all enjoy it. We're not interested in restaurants, shops or pubs though (have a toddler). DD is at nursery part of the week, and attends a couple of toddler classes on the other days. We've not been required to self isolate so far.
