What's the earliest you want to hear a Christmas song?

Personally I can live with any time in December, although I never listen to them off my own bat until at most a week or two before Christmas.

Already hearing them on the radio now. I just don't want to hear it in the middle of November.

December 1st.
Open season from then until Twelfth Night.

Half past never?

@ShedFace

1st December and not a moment before as I’m not allowed to get excited until then!
This exactly

@Ginfordinner

Christmas Eve. Most of the really popular ones came out when I was a teenager. That makes over 40 years of hearing the same old songs for several weeks every year.

I listen to my own music in December rather than the radio. I just can't get excited about Christmas any more.

Ditto this.

Just how much of my life has been spent hearing Roy Fucking Wood, and Noddy Fucking Holder and John Fucking Lennon wishing it could be Christmas every fucking day? I hate to think. I do know that I walk out of shops if they start playing it.

Small and indy shop owners be aware - you may well losing sales because you've got 'I Can't Believe it's Not Fucking Christmas' on your CD player and having George Fucking Michael wittering on about Last Christmas is not going to get us in the Christmas Spirit (ie SPEND MORE MONEY WITH US!). It's going to make us spend less of our money with you.

We KNOW it's Christmas soon. The TV has been telling us for MONTHS. We KNOW we're supposed to be spending all our money on shite people will never use and will end up in landfill by next year. Just give our heads a break will you?

Christmas sucks. It's not magical. It's not 'The Most Wonderful Time of the Year'. It's a sanitised, homogenised, Disneyfied corporate selling tool. Let's get back to the real meaning of the midwinter festivals. Let's all get pissed, take all our clothes off, fuck each other stupid, then sleep till April.

When the tree goes up. Week before Christmas.

IRunLikeJoeBiden · 17/11/2020 09:07

The first Saturday in December, when the tree goes up. We play .

I won't tolerate them until 1 December. I have banned them in our house until then. I will likely only choose to put them on myself from a week before Christmas.

StickTheKettleOnAlice · 21/11/2020 07:18

1st December is a weekday and we always put them up closest weekend to 1st December. It will mean this year it will be the one before.

ZaraW · 21/11/2020 07:22

Never.

GooseWhiskers · 21/11/2020 07:35

Would happily never hear Christmas songs, they’re all awful!

1st December, though I might break my own rule and play some carols while making the Christmas puds on Stir-up Sunday.🎄
