Personally I can live with any time in December, although I never listen to them off my own bat until at most a week or two before Christmas.

Already hearing them on the radio now. I just don't want to hear it in the middle of November.

never, and especially not Slade and also especially not the godawful band aid song

QueenPaws · 16/11/2020 21:36

In fact I'm quite glad to be shielding because the Christmas songs in supermarkets make me murderous Blush

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 16/11/2020 21:37

userxx · 16/11/2020 21:37

Never. I work in retail

Sympathies. You must feel like screaming most of the day.

Eaumyword · 16/11/2020 21:39

1st Dec then game on and fully festive!

malhurst · 16/11/2020 21:39

Carols 1Dec.
Christmas songs I could gladly never hear again until my dying day.

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 16/11/2020 21:41

I worked in retail years ago. I actually really liked listening to Christmas music all day every day through the festive period. But I am a huge Christmas fan! Xmas Smile

Retail workers must have a Noddy Holder dartboard.

If it drowns out my DH ranting about work meetings I’d start it now

elQuintoConyo · 16/11/2020 21:50

Last week! But only when I'm alone, I don't force it on others' ears.

Laughing heartily at premature treejaculation Grin

Meepmeeep · 16/11/2020 21:57

Any time before August is a disgrace. August onwards, perfectly acceptable.

feelingverylazytoday · 16/11/2020 21:59

Never, unless it's Bowie and Bing Crosby. I listen to that one all year round.

Deadringer · 16/11/2020 22:01

I normally don't like christmas to start until about 8th December, but this year i say bring it on.

TheSandman · 16/11/2020 22:06

The earliest? Christmas eve. Late Christmas eve. Very late
Christmas eve.

BestOption · 16/11/2020 22:07

Radio/shops etc 1 Dec.

At home, usually around the same, but only when I'm putting the tree up etc. Not all day, every day!!

Need them on over Christmas, but often end up spending it with people who don't like them & want the bloody tele on 24/7.

So looking forward to doing my own thing this year, without seeming rude!!

MistyGreenAndBlue · 16/11/2020 22:11

Depends on the song. I can listen to Carol of The Bells at any time.

Mariah Carey can get in the bin even on Christmas Day

Wombling Merry Christmas - Dec only Grin

diamondpony80 · 16/11/2020 22:12

Around now, mid November

Thewinterofdiscontent · 16/11/2020 22:18

Gosh that’s a good point. Normally I am tutting away at the repetive Christmas tunes by now.
Buti’ve not heard one so far!

Combination of very little shopping and Radio 4 not 1 . Truly Peace and Joy!

shinynewapple2020 · 16/11/2020 22:21

1st December. I love Christmas songs - but not in November . I also like to hear them in the Christmas- New Year period as that's 'Christmas' to me .

ServeTheServants · 16/11/2020 22:22

I’ve had them on since 1st November. I usually wait until after Bonfire Night, but made the 4 day exception and blamed it on Covid.

OrangeBananaFish · 16/11/2020 22:24

1st December. Although admittedly I am tempted to join the 'lets start Christmas early this year' party.

I don't mind the usual ones you get on the radio, but I prefer my playlist of Christmas songs that I never hear in shops or radio.

lioncitygirl · 16/11/2020 22:24

i start on the 31st of October.

Butterfly3105 · 16/11/2020 22:27

I’d say mid November is fine, my local Mp got them banned in shops in my town before October 😂

BackforGood · 16/11/2020 22:29

1st December, though when I was teaching small people, we'd have to start learning songs ready for Christmas as soon as we went back after October 1/2 term.
