And I'm off....

On a coffee break and I was taking a look at Facebook. Now I'm a mess of tears. I wasn't ready for this. I hadn't even got my Lidl Stollen...

I'm going to need more hankies if this is the way all Christmas ads go...

The Amazon one got to me as between them my DC have had 70 concerts etc cancelled this year. Even worse of course for those who rely on the arts to make a living. However the toll on them as one email after another came in with the bad news was pretty horrid to watch.

Cosmos45 · 12/11/2020 16:27

@PoppyOppy me too! It was lily Allen wasn't it? Beautiful cover of that song

Wife2b · 12/11/2020 16:28

I loved the Aldi one with Kevin the Carrot. Very nostalgic

ShebaShimmyShake · 12/11/2020 16:45

This is cynical emotional manipulation and I succumb with joy. Dammit.

sueelleker · 12/11/2020 17:16

I already want to throw the telly out the window every time Christmas Lisa appears. Me too- I can't see why they're all screaming with laughter.

nosswith · 12/11/2020 17:22

Life is possible without Facebook, or commercial tv. Just avoid it.

gwenneh · 12/11/2020 17:25

The Asda one with that annoying Sonny twat? Or is there another one I haven't seen?

No, that's the one which makes it all the more ridiculous.

Manipulative and designed to encourage the spending of money on stuff you don't need....
Definitely don't make me whimper let alone sob( are people actually letting out body wracking, cries of distress..... I don't think so huns.

CherryValanc · 12/11/2020 21:04

@Pumperthepumper

The Coca Cola one is rubbish. If he could take time off to go to the North Pole, how come he didn’t use that time to go home to his family? AND he forgot to post the letter.
That's exactly what I thought. Ridiculous.

I do like the Supervalu on though. Hadn't heard out it, it's just sweet that Grandad was the most important thing to him.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 12/11/2020 21:10

WTF are they purposely making adverts to make people cry for?! Why do they want us to cry?

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 12/11/2020 21:16

@DaddysGirlForLife

The McDonald's one made me cry more than the other 2, but that's because that's my eldest now 😭
