I had the 29th off as I had Covid symptoms I tested negative OH tested positive on the 30th I was due in work on the 31st and let them know.

I've just had a call now that I'm supposed to be in, isn't it 14 days from the day my OH tested positive?

I only work Tuesday Thursday Saturday

Yes, two weeks from his positive test. You are due in Sunday.

GinAtMerlottes · 12/11/2020 07:48

Sorry, Saturday

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 12/11/2020 07:48

14 days for contacts of positive people - from when they first had symptoms. When did his symptoms start?

worstyearofmylife · 12/11/2020 07:49

He had no symptoms he only had a test because I was quite sick.

Ah ok. And we're the test and the results on the same day as each other?

worstyearofmylife · 12/11/2020 08:17

Yes we both had them the same day, I'm worried I'm not going to be paid now and it looks awful on me. She asked if I could come in but I said it's a bit last minute as we're all over the place at the minute being at home for 2 weeks by time I got there I would of only done 2 hours.

ceeveebee · 12/11/2020 08:17

I would say 14 days from the day your DH took his test.

Namechangedforthisoct2 · 12/11/2020 08:19

I thought it had changed to 10 days? Check with track and trace

worstyearofmylife · 12/11/2020 08:20

We was told 10 days for OH 14 days for the rest of the household.

OP posts:
ceeveebee · 12/11/2020 08:20

10 days is for the person who has tested positive. 14 days is for contacts of the person who has tested positive.

mogloveseggs · 12/11/2020 08:23

I guess if you've not been in since the 29th they are counting that as part of your isolation?

wintersdawn · 12/11/2020 08:23

10 days for husband but 14 days for rest of household.
It's most likely you are ok as most people display symptoms within 7 days of being exposed but there are a high enough number developing symptoms up until 14 days that the government decided against lowering the time limit.

AlwaysCheddar · 12/11/2020 08:31

14 days from when symptoms start, not from positive test.

dementedpixie · 12/11/2020 08:34

Your isolation ends today so you'd be free to leave the house tomorrow. Your work is wrong. Have you done an nhs isolation note for them?

dementedpixie · 12/11/2020 08:35

@AlwaysCheddar

14 days from when symptoms start, not from positive test.
He didn't have symptoms when he got tested. Op needs 14 days isolation from the positive test her OH had
worstyearofmylife · 12/11/2020 08:40

@dementedpixie no I haven't filled one out.

I'm going to call HR and see what they say.

OP posts:
BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 12/11/2020 08:41

And not possible for them to arrange any home working for you?

worstyearofmylife · 12/11/2020 08:42

I work in a supermarket @BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz

Comefromaway · 12/11/2020 08:46

Did you get an isolation note (or an updated one when your dh tested positive). That should state the date.

dementedpixie · 12/11/2020 08:57

You can print an isolation note online. If you put in the date of test then it says when to isolate until

worstyearofmylife · 12/11/2020 09:18

It says to isolate until 12th of November so does that mean I'm supposed to be in today?

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 12/11/2020 09:20

If you count 14 days from 30th (including 30th) then the last day of isolation is today and you are free to go out tomorrow.

worstyearofmylife · 12/11/2020 09:41

That's what I thought if they are counting it from the 29th when we had the test does that mean I'm supposed to be in today.

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 12/11/2020 09:46

Ah right. If they count it from the test date and that was the 29th then isolation would have ended yesterday. Easy mistake to make if he didn't have symptoms

Comefromaway · 12/11/2020 09:52

My daughter's college were very specific. She had contact with someone who tested positive who began symptoms on a MOnday and her class ended at lunchtime. She was told she was free to come out of isolation at mid-day two Mondays after that.

So if you start counting from 30th. Day 1 is 31st, (end of the first 24 hours) tomorrow is Day 14 so you can come out of isolation tomorrow.
